Remember the golden rule - post your favorite PCGS gold coin

I assume we all know the common definition of the Golden Rule.
I guess on the Coin Forum, the Golden Rule is What if Don Willis or David Hall read my post?
The smart folks already know this, others maybe need to keep it in the back of their minds, as we are all responsible for our own actions.

Here is my favorite PCGS gold coin - it's amazing

image

CLCT is a $178 million dollar company and I am a shareholder.

Our company provides authentication and grading services for the collectables market.
Our customer base is collectors. They are the end consumers of our products, which generates revenue for the company and provides a return to investors.

These messages boards are an arm of our Marketing Department and are meant to promote goodwill with our customer base.

This is the Internet and one of many discussion boards, and each has its own clichés and factions.
You may not have a financial stake in our company, but I do. Perhaps a review of Don’s rules would be useful, especially numbers, 3 5 and 8.

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL AND COURTEOUS TO OUR COLLECTOR CUSTOMER BASE.

Have fun, but think of yourself as a representative of PCGS when posting here, and that you are responding to one of our potential customers.

Thank you.

As for PCGS, their customer base is PCGS Authorized Coin Dealers. It always has been from the beginning. Collectors were not allowed to submit to PCGS until early 2000's when the collectors club was formed.

I am a share holder of CLCT. There needs to be a share holder vote on grades. The owners must take a more active role other than as a ticker spectator.

Goodbye threads never seem to last long....matter of fact, the latest one seems to have been poofed.....
I think that thread was prompted by the removal of another (OT) thread that was poofed pretty quickly....
Wonder if this one will last?

As for being a shareholder.....more than a few of us are as well.

As for being courteous, the vast majority are as well...not sure why this thread even exists if not to just be OT or to have something to post.....

Matter of fact, one of the most courteous things to post and do would be to post on topic threads. If everyone would do that, then that would go a long way (though, the twins/triplets generally can't do that...these forums are their playgrounds).

As for being a representative of PCGS when posting here....absolutely! For ANYONE ACTUALLY EMPLOYED BY PCGS/CU. Not employed by them? Then one can be themselves....whether or not that means they get rude and get banned is a different thing, but it is generally a company's protocol that when posting on an internet forum related in any way to their employment, that the person identify themselves as such and conduct themselves accordingly.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Bochiman is right. And the OP makes a very valid point. The bottom line in society for a better society is to stay within the guidelines and along the "coin's edge".

We all are human and fail in our quest to be "stellar citizens" in the world today. EACH is individual and we should (and most of us do) respect the rights and views of others, even if we "prod" each other. And passion is something which seems prevalent in all of us who "collect" or like collectibles, etc.,
And I think, by and large, most of us have "fun" doing that. I know when threads like this get off balance, humor reigns in, as does insanity. Forgive my zany, people. image
