If I went to the library and opened an EBay account would I not be able to access it from my home?
If I was banned like the op is..

  • You would be able to access it anywhere. But, there's a good chance it'd eventually get shut down as there are ways to trace it to you--PayPal, home address, bank account, etc.

<< <i>1) OP states he has been wronged in some way

    6) OP refuses to provide requested information
    7) full-blown argument begins
    8) well, OP doesn't care what you think anyway

LOL! If you watch the Chopsocky movies on the great El Rey network you do eventually find a common thread(or voice) in the Shaw Bros. films

    1)Fight scene
2)Revenge for the losers(Here is voice of hero).
    3)Fight scene
    4)Bad guys retaliate
    5)Hero regroups
    6)Fight scene
7)Woman appears to either help hero or bad guys
    8)Fight scene
    9)Hero and Woman together
    10) Credits
I ask where is the woman in this debacle?

About 7 years ago, ebay took away my ability to sell. Long story short....a friend of mine put some metallic shiny borders on topps heritage cards. I thought they looked pretty neat so he gave me a few and I put them on ebay. Someone made a complaint and ebay shut me down. After hours of phone calls and no one had an answer as to WHY, I finally got a supposed supervisor tell me I was shut down for copyright infringement. I explained my side and how it is NOT copyright infringement and he actually agreed with me and just said "Ok, but just dont try to sell them again." I agreed to not sell them anymore because I did not want the hassle. Well, ebay never gave me my selling status back and again after many phone calls, I was told that I will never be allowed to sell on ebay again. Over those past 7 years, I have requested to be reinstated 3 times, most recently about 10 months ago. I am still on their list to never be allowed to sell on ebay again and therefore I am and always will be denied.

But right after that happened, I opened a bank account at a different bank, used my parents address, opened a new paypal, then opened a new account on ebay. So I made my way around their stupidity. I sell less than $10,000 a year so I do not give them my social security number. That way they can not connect the dots. So far, Ive made it work. I know at some point they will know or they do not care. Not sure which it is but Im not going to alert them either.

I still use my old account for buying.

Great story, and I'm glad it worked out for you. I was thinking all along that if the OP is creative, there has to be a way to create new accounts to be able to sell again.

As the OP stated, he's been operating at a loss for years, so much of a loss that he's had to nickle and dime the buyers out of tracking and proper shipping methods. EBay couldn't tell him to change because he knows everything. After all, he's been a seller for nearly a decade, so of course he knows more than eBay. Only thing they can do is shut the guy down.

This is a guy who spends about $200/week on cards and doesn't have enough to buy Christmas presents for his loved ones? Classy.

Not eBay's fault like the OP is saying, but his own. I'd hope that with all those cards coming and going through his home on a regular basis that his loved ones share enough of his passion for sports cards. If so, he's got some inventory to give away. If not, must be a quiet home. And shame on him for spending that kind of money so selfishly.

This is a good opportunity for the OP to really look in the mirror and make some major life changes.

Heck, I feel bad. What can I do to help? Is there anything your family would like for Christmas? Seriously, let me know.

That's a very nice gesture but I'm pretty sure a monster lot of 1989 Topps Tony McKegney's is not going to solve the OP's problems.

<< <i>This thread has reached near-dumpster fire status, but I do want to say one more thing before I (and maybe the thread) go poof:

I know that a lot of this feels like an attack on you (OP). I know that you're thinking that no one cares because it is you and not us. Neither of those things are true. This sucks - it sucks because you're a board member here and because you're someone within the hobby that seems like they were trying, even if at times misguided. It sucks because clearly the money matters to you and it is coming at a bad time. I am sorry about that.

You got a wave of pointed questions about what caused the ban. This should not be read as "it is 100% your fault". Instead, I think a lot of people here are at least obliquely interested in helping others. To help you fix your situation, we had to know the details of the situation to give you the best advice about how to proceed. I honestly think that if you posted your eBay name, all communication with eBay, all communication with problem buyers, comprehensive feedback history, etc., you would get the board's best and honest advice about how to move forward. I don't think you'd get hit with a wall of derision - we all make mistakes, we all have gotten neutral and negative feedback from time to time - it happens and it doesn't mean you're a bad seller.

    Good luck going forward. >>

+1 to all of this. I also add the tough love note that if you would have spent half the time looking for a solution as you have complaining about your lot, you would already be back in business.

    No reason at all. Right.

So now it's just people being jerks just to be jerks. I hope it makes you feel better about yourselves. You must lead pretty sad and pathetic lives if crapping all over someone who just had a major negative thing happen to them is your thing. Merry Christmas to you.

I hope this doesn't happen to any of you. Even the insensitive, callous jerks. It's not a good feeling. That's all I have left to say about it. I hope you all have a nice Holiday.

Is he back up? ebuyselltrade doesn't have anything listed for sale.

I don't think his account was suspended; I think he was just restricted from selling.
