If this is the OP's EBAY ID I think he should own it. Personally I think you should ship within 24 hours or less from the time you receive payment but that is just me.
There are a ton of positive transactions here and happy customers. Obviously you want your item as fast as you can get it but in the end you just want it to be delivered in the condition you bought it in.
If this is your ID I think your track record for the most part speaks for itself and while you haven't complied with the EBAY standards you aren't some con artist either.
I always try to get orders out within 24 hours but advertise up to 3 business days (just in case). With the holidays here it's taking me the three business days.
If that's the OPs eBay (at least one of his eBay IDs) then it appears on the outside that he shouldn't have been barred from selling. However, I believe there's a lot more to this than we will ever know.

I mean one that literally competes with Ebay or beats them as far as bringing in buyers and sellers. Whatever one you are referring to obviously didn't since you hint that it was not all that successful. Ebay was great for the first 8-10 years. In my opinion, it has been nothing but down hill since then.
If that is really the OP's account, what on earth were you sending in PWE's? When I said I often use PWE's, that's for $0.99 cent cards with $.50 shipping. That is what I thought you meant. This account is selling cards at $7 and higher.

Your talking thousands of dollars a year savings when you ship $5 or less items without tracking. It's $.70 to ship PWE, $1.90+ to send tracked. If it's worth it to send EVERYTHING tracked, other than to retain your account, I don't see how.

I didn't know that it would lose me my account. If I knew that, I would have done things differently. That's why I said "other than to retain your account".
Savings to whom? The seller? Obviously not - violating the requirement for tracking (it is a requirement, eBay law, something you agree to when you decide to sell on the platform) gets you canned, so you make nothing. The buyer? It's their choice - they factor shipping into purchase price. If it was too much, they wouldn't buy.
Saying "I don't like the rules, so I'm not going to follow them" and "Those jerks disgust me for banning me for violating their rules" simultaneously is silly. You had to know this was coming.
I've been cherry-picking, so this obvious nugget of advice may very well have been mentioned already. I try to eschew this route at all costs, as sliding down a barbed-wire banister into a bucket of alcohol always seems more appealing, but did the OP call eBay and extract the definitive 411?

Of course I have. They basically told me to get bent.
I wouldn't do it, because I'm not a scumbag. But knowing that it now takes close to nothing to get banned from selling on ebay, one could have your ebay account perma-banned by simply buying a bunch of stuff and opening cases ASAP. Even if they are tracked, cases can be opened and they count against your defect averages. Along with low DSRs, etc... Food for thought.

No, the very opposite, actually. "I wouldn't do it" is pretty self-explanatory. I said it would be easy to do. Scary, huh? But keep laughing and piling on though. It's really cool, and smart, to kick people when they are down who have nothing to lose.

But people don't do that. They only open cases when their item hasn't shown up or if it's not as described. You're piling on buyers for opening cases, but now it's obvious why they had to do that: you are slow to ship, and they had no tracking number to find their item. Once you were warned with a lower selling limit, why did you push it and not correct the thing that was causing problems?

I did correct it. I started shipping everything same day, tracked. But less than a month later, with no time for the changes to take affect, they perma-banned me without recourse.
All anyone has to do is google "banned from selling on ebay" to see what is happening. You are acting like it's just me and I'm a fool for complaining, but it has happened to THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of sellers, all with similar stories. They got rid of 15,000+ sellers just last year in one fell swoop and this is this year's iteration. They are biting the hands that feed them and all you have is, "You did this to yourself"? No I didn't. My record was great, certainly not perma-ban worthy.
Less sellers means less buyers, period. I spent a crap-ton of money on ebay using the very funds I made from selling. That's one less big buyer on the open market. Who is that good for. No one.
This thread has reached near-dumpster fire status, but I do want to say one more thing before I (and maybe the thread) go poof:
I know that a lot of this feels like an attack on you (OP). I know that you're thinking that no one cares because it is you and not us. Neither of those things are true. This sucks - it sucks because you're a board member here and because you're someone within the hobby that seems like they were trying, even if at times misguided. It sucks because clearly the money matters to you and it is coming at a bad time. I am sorry about that.
You got a wave of pointed questions about what caused the ban. This should not be read as "it is 100% your fault". Instead, I think a lot of people here are at least obliquely interested in helping others. To help you fix your situation, we had to know the details of the situation to give you the best advice about how to proceed. I honestly think that if you posted your eBay name, all communication with eBay, all communication with problem buyers, comprehensive feedback history, etc., you would get the board's best and honest advice about how to move forward. I don't think you'd get hit with a wall of derision - we all make mistakes, we all have gotten neutral and negative feedback from time to time - it happens and it doesn't mean you're a bad seller.
ebay wants to be amazon, so they are protecting corporate American and Chinese sellers while not-so-slowly tossing the "small-time" sellers. You'll be able to buy that iPhone knock-off from the Chinese seller with 7,000 negatives, but good luck completing your player collection or PSA set registries because ebay is booting good and honest sellers with nearly perfect feedback by creating "defect" guidelines that only protect big-time sellers and punish the small-time sellers. No issues though. Nothing to see here. Just an idiot who spent $.70 to ship $5 or less items who deserves to lose his income stream because of it. Carry on with your day, this doesn't affect you.

Interesting that I just had a poor experience with an Ebay selling and electronics. Basically bought a new computer that arrived defective. Paid customs and duties so it didn't make sense to return (25% of purchase price, seller would not cover return shipping). Poor communication from seller, could not provide me his proof of purchase so could not get warranty.
Long story short after 3 weeks of back and forth ended up leaving neg feedback, one of a few this guy had. Ebay actually removed my feedback which I found very strange as I had a bunch of emails showing the guy was a tool.

100% agreed. Besides the occasional slow shipping, your feedback and DSRs look pretty darn good to me. Seems like a really harsh decision by eBay, assuming we're getting all of the story. I'd like to think we are.

Its very interesting the social dynamics in play on such a thread. I agree with Walter's 8 points to an irresistible thread! The OP seems defensive and peeved and a bit snappy with any and all who question anything about the situation. When really, the questions are because people actually care to understand the situation. Now, maybe they care just because they are selfishly looking for a way to understand how this could not happen to them - a way to be able to blame it on the OP's actions, but i tend to believe people genuinely have an interest in the situation, especially since almost everyone here has some interaction with eBay.
I notice that these threads tend to breakdown ALWAYS after the OP withholds info or gets defensive. Then its a feeding frenzy. But if you consider other threads where the OP is forthcoming and honest, he/she will get tons of support from this community.
I find it interesting that the OP wants to post this on 4 different msg boards which makes me think he is either a narcisist (looking for attention and sympathy), or maybe is trying to fight back and take down ebay by showing how evil they are....but on that point his cause is undermined because there is not enough honesty about his situation.
If something crappy like this happened to me, i might post on here as well....because i have a relationship with many on here, and i might want a combination of sympathy, advice, and consolation. I get that angle. I also know by doing so, I might expect a few i don't know will post msgs questioning my story. My response will speak volumes about who i am as well. Taking a bad response personally would always be a big mistake, as that would inadvertently lend credence to that thought.
Regardless, I am not happy that ebay would take these actions, and i wish you were still allowed to sell and earn your income. I do appreciate this as a warning to us ebay sellers to watch our details and make sure we are abiding by the rules we agreed to, or we are in jeopardy.

Good luck going forward.

Thank you.
It's been done, and collectors avoided it like the plague. >>
Just what buyers want. A new site filled will sellers booted from Ebay for doing whatever they darn well please.
Long story short after 3 weeks of back and forth ended up leaving neg feedback, one of a few this guy had. Ebay actually removed my feedback which I found very strange as I had a bunch of emails showing the guy was a tool.

Agreed!
<< <i>All anyone has to do is google "banned from selling on ebay" to see what is happening. >>
