Poll: Where Do You Live?

hchcoinhchcoin Posts: 4,843 ✭✭✭✭✭
I thought it would be fun to see where people on the forum live and to see if there is a concentration in any areas.

I think it is interesting you posted this poll. I was just thinking the other day what states I have never sold a coin to and could only come up with 2! Does anyone know if anyone collects coins in the Dakota's? image

Maybe you should remove Southwest or else add Northeast, Southeast, and Northwest for greater accuracy. image

Also, add Mid-Atlantic. I live in Maryland which is Mid-Atlantic. I voted South because it's below the Mason-Dixon Line which makes it a southern state but it's also an East coast state. This poll is seriously flawed.

Same here .. I don't consider myself an "East Coaster" but that was the closest choice available.

You should categorize the Northwest and California separately because they are practically different worlds socially speaking image

Does anyone collect coins in the Dakotas? Our show in Minnesota attracts dealers from both North and South Dakota. I have attended shows in Fargo, North Dakota. The population is thin but there are still collectors out there.

I am eagerly waiting the results of this poll after more participation. I want to look at it in terms of my shipping. I have always stated that "coin collecting" is much more common on the right side of the country than on the left. :-)

It would also be interesting to see if there is any correlation between people collecting certain series or types, being located in specific parts of the country.

Yes, Western SD. Black Hills actually

Many people all over the state, from the financial support in the cities to the farmers and ranchers blanketing these great lands, cherish and believe in tangible assets. We see a lot of South Dakotans that travel to the ND oil fields turning their surplus income into coins and bullion. Plus, with the history of our area and the settlement of the state, there is always something showing up that is exciting.

SE Coastal GA. Midway between Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL (about an hour's drive from either).

Had to choose between "East Coast" and "South" in your poll, and chose "East Coast", though both apply in my case.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

So true. I have one sibling in L.A. and another (by marriage) in Seattle, and they are completely opposite. And having visited them both numerous times, I know it's not just them ... it's the culture.

You forgot a coast-the North Coast. Some of those who live near the Great Lakes call it that. I think better geographic locations to choose from might be Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, and Southeast with the corresponding coastal areas but don't forget "Center."

I remember the state by state poll that was posted here long ago.
