I picked up a 1900 Half last week in a MS 60 Old Green Holder:
It's the only MS 60 coin I own- they're a bit difficult to find. I like the OGH so I'll keep the coin in it, but I suspect it would upgrade if cracked.

Do you have this date in a 58+??? Just saying.......

Three days with no Barber posts?? Unacceptable!!!
This one is slabbed by our friends across the street as a 64...
What is keeping this as a 64?
Heck if I know. Cuz the luster is great and the fields and that cheek are CLEAN.
My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.

I may have some big news for me to post tomorrow. Stay tuned!!!
Ok, I dont have to wait till tomorrow. After several years, I have finally found the last piece to my Liberty nickel collection. Been searching for a well struck coin for some time. The obverse gets pretty close but Im a few kernels short on the reverse. Glad to have it finished and cannot wait to see this one in hand!
Procured a 1908-P dime with RPD. There are a lot of versions of these so I need to look into which version of RPD this represents... I am sure Jon would know right off:

It's not one I recognize right off. Like you said there are a LOT of them. The mint employees at the Philly & Denver mint must have been on something most of the year.
PCGS was busy working yesterday on Presidents Day. They got around to grading myEconomy Submission from December, posted the grades, and Phil captured them in his Trueviews. Most came back as I thought they would, but there was one surprise (for me). I submitted a raw 1892 O Quarter- the FS 901 Clashed Die variety. There were only 3 of them graded by PCGS; now there are four. I was debating if mine would come back in a 58 or 55 holder- it's now in a MS 63 holder:
Now the second finest. Not what I think of when I envision a MS 63......

Nice looking FS-901! I attributed the finest one (MS64) and sold it last year, but kept the first one I attributed, the AU55. They share the CoinFacts page images with yours.

Nice find Tim. We need to figure out a way to attribute and catalog all these Barber Dime varieties. Perhaps you, Jon, and I should come up with a plan. Anyone else up for some fun?

This is the sort of thing that frustrates me: If you go to CONECA - Variety Vista... no Barber stuff: http://varietyvista.com/CONECA Master Listings.htm
So, needless to say, we need a good location to go for Barber varieties. At the BCCS site, www.barbercoins.org, I did remember seeing a note that we would be starting the Barber dime variety survey at some point. When is that supposed to happen? Anyone have insight? In the pulldown, choose "Projects", then choose "Variety Surveys" for related information. There you will see Barber Quarters and Halves but nothing on Dimes. My thinking is the dimes will be a daunting task. There are soooo many that people will tend to shy away from the task.
Milo, Vern, pleasant '07-S quarter in VF! Great job on picking up one with some pleasant color which is tough for this date and mint at this grade level IMO.
I picked this one up from Holsonbake a number of years ago... and I think this is a less desirable look:
At roughly the same grade, my ex-JKT (John Thomas) 1907-S quarter with pleasing color:

My latest submission to PCGS arrived over the weekend; there we're a few Barber Quarters that upgraded my Everyman set. Here's a raw find 1903 now in a 55 holder:
It upgraded a VF 35 in my set. Ir's a surprisingly tough coin to find in nice AU.

Made it to March! I am getting into these 1908 Philadephia dime varieties here in the near term for some reason. A nice XF pick-up (non-details)... take a look with a close-up on the RPD possibility? I see something like 301 on the 9 but the inside of the 8 seems different... I don't know:
Do you all see anything here that I see?

Its been a long time since I've visited this thread or even purchased a new half for my collection - but am back into it now and hopefully can start contributing.
Great coins on this thread and a pleasure to read through and enjoy
Another newp. My first '92-P Type 1 Reverse in AU. A long time looking to get one decent the way I thought it needed to look and circulated. More of these in uncirculated seem to be available than nice circulated IMO...
What do you think on GTG? Will be sending this into our hosts this month.

Most 60 coins I have seen are uncirculated with lots of issues. Your coin looks to be an exception. That’s a real nice 60. Congratulations

Congrats on completing the set. The '86 is one of the toughies all right- your newp looks nice and original.
I purchased an upgrade to my Barber Dime set a few weeks back and finally got around to photographing it on Sunday:

Well, I'll tell you what I do know, its not FS-101, 102, or 103. Doesn't look like any of the three known so far as I can tell.

Which unfortunately makes it NADA to PCGS- that sucks.
Cary - Good looking '94 qtr.
PhilL - You're off to a wonderful start.
erwindoc - Congratulations on completion of the set. Tough to find that right '86.
Jeff - Real nice 07-S dime. Wish I could find a 7-S qtr with that look.

Here's another new Quarter back from the grading room, a 1916 that I cracked out of a NGC AU 58 holder:
I'm glad PCGS put the word "Barber" on the label in case I get confused. This replaces an AU 53 in my Everyman set.
Even though I posted the TV photo of this coin last week I'll post my photo of it to bump the thread up:
