You have an epic run of unopened product for this time frame, which, as my forum name indicates, is my sweet spot. I don't collect anything outside of baseball, but this thread does give me pause on my focus decision. All of the boxes from different sports shown together must present as an awesome display! I suspect that you have difficulties getting your collection into one place for display, which is a huge issue for me. Thanks for sharing.
Conundrum - Loving my unopened baseball card collection....but really like ripping too

You could open one awesome sports card shop with that material! Would be like going back in time to the good 'ol days.
Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.

James--That is a heck of a haul. Of course you know l think that 81 box is sweet, looks case fresh. I have case fresh boxes of the East and Midwest, so between the two of us we have the run. Awesome 84 box too!

Thanks Mr. Slum. I didn't even realize I had it until a couple weeks ago when I went through some big boxes full of my unopened boxes. ;0

There you go. image Well, I think I remembered having a 1979 box, but didn't realize it was from the BBCE from way back in the day....I dug out some other stuff as well, so it was kind of interesting. Things that I had tucked away and put them in my spare room. I'll have to try to get some pictures up for those. image

It has been a while since I posted any updates. I've been out of town working a lot the last few months so the buying has slowed down. Also, since the initial collection I started is complete there is not much that I want or need to add. I did manage to pick up a 1979 baseball box and another box that I didn't have that I haven't sent to BBCE yet. Will post that one when it is wrapped. The cello box pictured is 1985.

This may be my last update for a while. i finally got a good 1979 Topps football box. The cello box is a 1981.

Really nice looking pick-ups. If you had to guess (or maybe you know), how many boxes do you still need to round out the collection? Are you buying rack boxes, or just wax and, if produced, cello?

Congrats James! All three of those boxes look really sharp. I've been trying to slow down on unopened, but threads like this make that a hard thing to doimage

The collection I originally started is complete. I have added a few extra boxes. I'm only doing wax and cello boxes. I have no intention of collecting rack boxes. I have started a new project so I don't know if I'll be buying many more unopened boxes.
