I have a strong hunch (it's a hunch, nothing more) that Silver will be down this Friday 8/16/13 at the close. This is a contest to win the token shown.
The rules:
1) You guess the actual amount Spot Silver will be down at the close of the day for Friday 8/16/13 on Kitcos site.
2) You CANNOT go over! If Spot is down .20 and you guessed .21, you are OUT. My contest, My rules. Make sure you get your decimal point in the right spot.
3) One guess per site user and guessing ends TODAY at 8:00 PM CT, so you get a little sense of what the overseas markets are doing.
4) After 8:00 PM CT tonight, you CANNOT edit your post.
5) If Spot ends up or being flat (no change from the previous days close) The contest is null & void, there will be no winner, except for the fact that I will be wrong and Spot will have gained something.
6) I will announce the winner on this thread and contact that person via private message, make sure that you have that feature turned on.
EDIT: Someone asked if todays close has any baring in their guess being that I am requesting guesses to be in by 8 PM CT THURSDAY?
No, Thursdays close of whatever Spot ends up being has no baring. The contest is for what the amount is DOWN (I see some people guessing positive, please change that if you want a chance at winning) on FRIDAYS close.
Another thing, I hope I've made it pretty obvious that this contest is for if Fridays close is DOWN. To avoid confusion or dispute by someone, it might be a good idea to say "DOWN" whatever your guess is rather than just putting in a number. I can just see how someone might say after the contest is over that the winner didn't say DOWN X amount. This is not a requirement since I know this for if the Spot price ends up being down, just a suggestion.
Here is what you're playing for, nothing major, just to have a little fun. A casino token, the silver part in the middle weighs .6 ty oz's and is .999 fine. Thanks for playing!

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Whatever it is, I say it's gonna be down -$0.11 which is up $0.11.
I knew it would happen.
Please see where I made the edit in the first post because someone basically asked the same question.
If at the end of the day Friday Spot silver is down .88 on Kitcos site, then .88 is what it is down for Friday. That is where the rubber meets the road.
Down .23

<< <i>I actually think spot will close up Friday but since guesses can only be negative... I'll say down .04 >>
But for this contest? I'll say down $0.37.
P.S. My gut says tomorrow's close will be over $23.50.
So I'll guess $0.02.
Thanks!
Any guess or edit past 8:00 PM will not count. The board reads for itself now.
Now all we have to do is wait til tomorrows close to determine the winner of this contest. Around 5:15 PM CT, if not a little sooner, the winner should be announced.
Thanks to everyone for getting in a guess and having a little fun!
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.So since it's my contest, I feel there should be a winner. What I'm going to do is award the token to the person that came closest to the amount it actually did close at without going over, same rules as it was for going over on the downside (Price is Right rules).
According to Kitco, Spot Silver closed UP .25 today.
So that makes the winner, ShinyThingsInPM with the guess of UP .21. I'll be sending a message to you shortly to get your mailing info..
I hope that no one takes exception to this change in rules, I just feel every contest should have a winner. I guess the better way of doing it would be to have had everyone guess the actual Dollar amount silver would close at rather than limiting it to only if Spot closed down. Lesson learned and thanks to all who participated, hope you had a little fun with it.

Forgive me for continuing to have fun with it:
I changed my guess of up .23 (see Mr. Paseo's post) based on your insistence of the rules. Also, my change was to "down .0"
No problem with your decision, just wanted get the record straight on who is the best guesser. Not often I can claim the honor, especially when it comes to future silver prices.
Speaking of rule changes: In my current buffalo sales contest there can be no winner that begins with a P and ends with an E.

P.S. Just saw derryb's post. A special shout-out for his prognosticative abilities.
