Pawn stars tonight see my funny money

SmittysSmittys Posts: 9,876 ✭✭✭✭✭
Premiere Date:August 08, 2013 - 09:00-09:30PM ET

Print money with the Pawn Stars as the guys check out an entire sheet of test notes. Made when the U.S. Mint was testing a new printing press, will they see dollar signs, or is this funny money too hot to touch? Then, Corey and Chumlee have to duck and cover when some poleaxes swing into the shop. Used in Medieval times to dismount horse-riding soldiers, can they land a deal? And later, the guys try to give Chumlee a new nickname, but can they make it stick?

This should be fun. Makes me wish I still subscribed to cable and watched television. 7 years without , I feel like a recluse. image Odd how many people say to me in the shop: "You must be one of them Pawn Stars" image

I'm going to have to pqay to get it framed, and if you have a hard time selling it, we are too. It's going to sit around for who knows how long until it sells and I don't have a lot of customers for something like this, plus I have rent and employees to pay.

How about 1/3 of its value?

Chumley will eventually have is own reality show. Maybe they will call it Chumley Boo Boo. Speaking of Boo Boo, neighbor ran into them in the dollar store (only the best) while they were in town for daddy Boo Boo's tests at the Mayo.

I know there are many people out there that do not have the knowledge, means or time to sell valuable
'objects' when they need the money. But I find it very hard to accept that the majority don't have friends/family
with contacts who, at least, may have a idea for a better return then a pawn shop. It should be a "last resort"
    only.

And yes, I know they are a business and entitled to a profit, but it always seems they guarantee
it at the expense of the customer.

I don't know why, but it really irks me to see ordinary people use these venues!!!...JMHO

Just a minor correction for you, the Mint does NOT print notes, that is BEP, better known as the Bureau of Engraving and Printing..... not a big deal... many make that mistake

Isn't that the one where Chumlee takes the poleaxe and with one mighty Bruce (Chum)Lee swing cuts the sheet into individual notes?

Thanks for the heads up. I was still able to catch the show here in my delayed time zone even after most had already seen it. Nice to be able to put a face with the name and all in all well done by the OP and the Pawn Stars crew.

  • I watched, of course. Well done. I watch that show a lot and you seemed to come across as one of the more intelligent sellers I've seen yet.

I had an up close and personal visit with that sheet a couple weekends ago at Smitty's shop. It is quite impressive in that unique holder provided by PCGS Currency. I shoulda taken a phone-cam shot of Smitty standing behind it. image

I've been a long time viewer and always wondered how long does it take an "expert" to just show up after they get a call? Also do they get compensated for their visit? Anyway I enjoyed the episode, and its nice to put a face to a name.
