Opened my 1st box Fri after work, with a DVR of an earlier Yankees Spring Training Game playing...love these games...they often invite minor league players or try out different pitchers for an extended period...loads of fun on both sides of the plate. Anyway, I basically got the hits I was expecting...didn't expect ink, but still went to bed disappointed. It was 10 packs in until I pulled my 1st Yankees base card. Also, it felt like I was opening up a jumbo, with the disproportionate amount of Rookie Stars I was pulling. I wouldn't have minded as much if I had at least pulled the one & only Yankees Rookie Stars card. I also had two Yankees dupes of my 3 jumbo pack breaks. My big hits for this box and what I expected vs. pulled are attached...Freddie Freeman is the Action Image for the box.
Saturday...busy day between baseball game, Scouts & Training, but I managed to squeeze in time to cue up the Yankees vs. the Old Spice team and break another box. To boot, my boy lost phone privileges for the day & decided breaking a hobby box was the best deal in town. And what a box it was! A purple refractor hot box! Loads of fun. And my boy got the big hit. A Willie Mays Autographed Flashback Relic Redemption #/25. Will take any advice on the best way to put it up for sale...I'm more interested in a Mays blue ink auto card from 2002 through 2004 when he was with the NY Giants. Attached is a recap and pix of my big pulls...two are purple refractors & the action image is Mike Trout. I also recevied theHefner/Muchado/Richards Ad Panel & Ron Herbal #64 Giants buyback. Everything non Yankees is up for Trade or Sale...will have my want/trade list up later tonight...I do have some prearranged trades already with Jim.
Tired of waiting for the local target to get some cards in I decided to go to the local card shop and get a hobby box. Picked up their last two. by pack 12 I ended up getting my best pull in a long time. Puig Gold 1/5. I am putting that guy up on ebay by tomorrow. That was fun.
Looking for 77 cloth 9s and 10s. 54 Red Hearts and now 64 Stand ups

very quiet thread this year. Less than two weeks since release, and this thread is already on page two
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
Could it be because not much retail has made its way out yet? I wonder for those who don't have access to hobby if they are waiting on retail and then some more trading will take place.
I think that is definitely the case. I usually buy retail first, then will buy hobby when I get to a card show or convention since the nearest shop/dealer is more than a half hour away from me. I am a set builder, so I am not just buying product for "hits" although I do want to see a fair share of them. After a month or two you usually see the dealers drop the hobby box prices $10-20 so it makes just a little more sense to wait like a month or so to pick up a box.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Like Rich above I'll be getting cheap boxes from Target. I have 9 coupons for $5 off a Heritage Blaster from Target sitting here just waiting to be used. The coupon books in the Topps Series 1 Blasters from Target have $15 in coupons for more Topps product.
Heritage, Archive and the Allen and Ginter cards are almost cool enough to get me interested in modern. In fact I'm giving some consideration to starting Clemente or Jackie Robinson collections of just those issues. Cards look cool, far more affordable than me chasing psa 7 or 8 1950's topps of those guys.
Gotta like the Turkeys if you like this other stuff. Heritage is the only old school stuff I like. There's just too much of it around.
Checked two Wal-Marts and two Targets during lunch, nothing available, although some 2013 Heritage blasters showed up at a Target. Also saw some fresh 2012 Topps Series 1's there. Man , they gotta stop printing this stuff in such mass quantities that they are selling them 2-3 years down the road. It's been 10 days now that Heritage has been out and there is still very little retail other than the first 6-9 packs of Jumbos showed up at Wal-Mart. Seems like it's been a month or more.

White river junction, vt. It's not that rural (interstates 89 and 91 intersect down the street from my house) by for some reason the closest targets are in Burlington or Rutland VT or concord/Manchester NH, all 50+ miles away. We do have a local Walmart and Kmart though.
I'm gonna buy a little at Walmart tomorrow. Haven't decided heritage or base topps.

Cool, I used to sell Saab parts to Snowfire up there in White River Junction
Haha you're dating yourself. I've lived here 12 years and have no idea what Snowfire is. Originally from RI, btw. Like Manny, my Yaz collecting, Portuguese hero!
Snowfire is a used car sales and service shop that dealt mainly in Saabs and Subarus back in the day. They sell everything now. I don't hear from them much anymore though
Does anybody need the Ali card? I've got zero interest in a baseball card with a boxer on it. I'd even throw in a few more heritage cards just to make a trade for something I actually want.
Still no Heritage blasters at the Targets in PA that I checked today. Ended up picking up a full retail box of 2014 Donruss, the remaining 5 jumbos of 2014 Heritage (like Guru--nothing in them), and hit the bargain bins again--2012 Topps Chrome, 2012 Topps football (can't believe those are showing up) and amazingly, 2010 Heritage blasters!

I saw the Chrome in the bargain bins, along with another Rose Legends box and some 2009 Goudey. Only picked up the Rose since it comes with an auto. Passed on the Donruss retail because I could tell it was sorted through. Not sure what the deal with Heritage is this year. I'll get a blaster when it comes out and see how I do. Still not impressed.

Not the first time I got those 2 towns mixed up
Nuthin! Not sure if any are variations. No hits, no chrome, no special borders.
<< <i>Still no Heritage blasters at the Targets in PA that I checked today. >>

With the NAPs - is that just a printing error? It's not something they did on purpose right? Or are they the "black backs"?
<< <i>Has anyone heard from Walt?[/q
Yeah we need Walt. He is the man. Where is he?
Hes probably hiding all the blasters in the linen dept. Behind the sheets and pillows and stuff. LOL
