That wasn't "THE" REA auction you referenced, it was the following year. Two of the 212351 opened cases were offered from one of the 7 case lots from the prior year along with a ton of graded star packs, so not only were they bad cases, they were potentially searched as well. I looked at them at the time and the centering showing through the packs was abominable. This was also the auction that offered the mysterious 27th case, which was water damaged and not offered in the main conlon sale. I wound up buying that case for similar money to the 212351s, even though 5~ boxes were destroyed. That was the most fun rip of my life.
Snuff ... one picture is funnier than the next! Keep it up.

Snuff ... was that you taking the video? Either way, thanks a lot for sharing, especially for those of us who were not able to attend.

I only found the video's I have been posting on YouTube. Unfortunately, Snuffleupagi are not allowed on the convention floor. Maybe they will change the rules next year and I will be able to attend.
I'm just curious that if anything left unsold will be put on the website for sale after the National. I hope so as I was unable to go and have a few dollars I'd like to spend.

It will but it will probably take a few weeks. We are planning a HUGE group break for the end of August. I will keep everyone updated. Last year after the National, we did a $45K break..........still a record however, maybe we can break this year
I do not know if it was mentioned before but does anyone know what the 1978 topps BB rack case sold for from BBCE? Did he have anyother rack cases at the National? Thanks
Snuff, Thanks for posting the videos! For those of us who did not attend, did everyone feel that 10 minute video was not nearly long enough from the bbce? I could watch an hour long video of their stuff and still feel empty.

Mark, do you know what the items for the break will be? Did you select stuff to hold before they packed for the National?

I didn't nail anything down with Steve but he will have a lot of stuff to pick from. My "guess" is we will have runs of 80's BB and FB, late 70's bskt, and 80's hockey.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully they have some extra inventory left over for us to access. Looking forward to it!
Aside from the 50s FB cellos and Ted Williams Wax, I'm shocked at the lack of 50s and 60s wax packs at the BBCE table. Last national I attended, he had stacks of 60s wax with stars on top. This stuff is really disappearing fast!

Not only that, but the way they blew out of many of their unopened 70's and 80's was incredible. It seems like the good stuff didn't even last to Saturday like last year.

So I'm guessing these two Mantle Series packs have increased in value over the past year?

I would say so. I did see a 1967 PSA 8 cello pack at a dealers booth, but it did not list the series on it. He had it listed for $500 so I would say yours would have a nice premium on it.

Sounds good. I spent a little time with Manny and Eric at the BBCE booth, This hobby is very interesting. You meet people from all walks of life and professions but all are friendly and more than happy to talk to you and teach you what they can about the hobby. I do alot of offshore fishing and the boating community isn't near as likely to engage in a conversation with you or divulge much information about themselves or whats going on offshore. I look forward to meeting more of you folks that enjoy this hobby as I do
