<< <i>The rest of the show is like a vast wasteland as far as older unopened goes. Very little around. Well, I was able to find an SP Jeter box at Dave and Adams but I didn't see any others. >>
Are there any dealers there offering decent amounts of 1980s and 1990s wax?

I have a question regarding the '75 Mini wax case that sold for $39K. First off - that's freaking impressive. But why so much? I believe these cases contain 16 boxes. BBCE has boxes listed for $2250/each on their site. The math doesn't add up unless there's a huge premium put on the fact that its a sealed case. Could it be tax?

You're talking about a 7-8% increase over boxes. I would imagine that's a reasonable premium for a sealed case of something like this.
<< <i>I am reading it as it has not sold. The 1975 Mini Wax Case is still for sale. Or did it sell? Yes, I believe there's a nice premium on unopened cases. 16 X 2250 = $36,000 10% Premium? >>
Looks like Manny stated that was the ASKING PRICE. Still, it's about an 8.5% premium ... IMO not that much of a premium for unopened. Maybe it also leaves Steve some negotiating room on such a high priced item.

Many here are all still curious why you sold empty wrappers, empty boxes, and the gum on eBay. Since you totally ignored everyone that asked, I hope Manny never tells you what you want to know.
It's priced rather high but one booth has cases of it and mountains of 80s stuff.
I picked up a 1984 fleer box for sixty bucks.

Sure I can do that. There is more 80s wax this year than last year by a longshot.
Also, Gary (1975 Topps wax wrapper collector/bar top maker) was at the BBCE booth yesterday. I thought it was him and confirmed with someone who would know 100% that Gary was there yesterday eyeing the wax.

My wife and I stopped by the show today for a little while and BBCX was the most dominate in unopened product. There were a few other dealers with some nice stuff too.
Steve was super busy when we stopped by and had some serious stuff in the showcases.
I was really surprised at the inventory many dealers had. Very inexpensive stuff. Cheap wax, Barry Bonds PSA 9's in the case.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
<< <i>Has anyone tried to bust 1993 SP lately? A lot of the gloss coated cards from that era come out of the pack stuck together like glue. 1993 UD is like that. Not sure about 1993 SP, but the texture of the cards is similar.
That case could be filled with grief and sorrow. >>
Maybe I missed it but has this question been answered? I'd be really p.o'd if I bought a box of 93 SP, let alone a case and have the cards all stuck together......al.
Yes the cards stick together and the foil cards get scratched.
And they are tough to grade. Pulled 2 Jeters from a box yesterday and have no clue what they would grade. Don't appear to be scratches on them but I have submitted gems straight from packs and got 8s and EOTs.

If the packs in the case have card face out on back as is fairly common on mini wax packs, those cards are potentially mint graded cards as well.

<< <i>So let's say it went for $35k. So for 5,760 cards that's roughly $6.08 per card! If you subtract 2 cards from each pack for gum and wax that's less 1,152 so 4,608 or $7.60 per card! YIKES!!!!! >>

Tim, the one in the auction you show is from serial number 212351. Aren't those the cases that Dave said contained mostly non-gradeable cards? The one Steve sold was 222351.

Does anyone know who ended up with the 75-76 OPC WAX box? That is an amazing box - I have 4 PSA packs. I have spoken to a lot of people, especially in Canada, and nobody has ever seen more than 10 packs. Whoever grabbed the box, that is a true hidden GEM! Please PM me if anyone would be willing to share the information - thanks!!!
I wonder what percentage of Steve's annual gross revenue is derived from National. Assuming they sold for list price, the '75 case, 2 86-87 Fleer boxes, two 59 cello boxes, and three Desert Shield boxes comes out to $144K. That's pretty awesome for less than 48 hours.
