Well, paid more than that, but both of these needed a home in my collection!

1905 5c PCGS AU-58. Don't collect these much, but I do like it when they look this nice.

Another one for my 1934 thru 1947 set. Too bad all Walkers weren't struck like the 1936-P's. PCGS MS-66

That Walker has great detail. Head, hand and skirt lines are all nicely struck.

Not too shabby of a V either.

That beats the _ _ _ _ out of bullion, in my opinion.

I saw that V nickel in last weeks auction and would have pounced had I not already had one I was exceedingly please with. Almost jumped on it regardless.

That Walker should a template of how a white MS 66 of that series should appear. The skirt lines DO NOT have the contact marks you'd expect to see on an MS 65. The eye appeal is attractive, and you have to look for a minor scuff mark or ding; they don't draw your attention to them.

The streaky obverse toning on the Nickel is typically the kind of toning you find on these coins. The reverse toning is more attractive than you would see (on most of these coins).

Just saw a '36 WLH on HLRC's site graded 67 that appears not to be as struck-up down Liberty's left leg nor with the feather detail down the eagle's left leg that this coin has . . . Of course his pic isn't that great either . . .

the V nickel is a great example. The very strong strike and attractive color make that a very unusual coin in that series.
