<< <i>I didn't realize they did that, although I'm not sure I would rely on that as something that would always happen. I'm fairly certain I've had orders that have come back in a different order than I submitted them. I can split the cards between 4 separate orders of 500, so it shouldn't matter.

    Kevin >>

    kevin,

i know for a fact that i have had cards put "out of order". not that it mattered they were all mine but i understand your concerns. i would have the same if i was running this. are you going to have a cut off as to when you need the hard numbers so we know the price point?

i might be willing to go to 500 but i would prefer then that i just give you my cc info and have them ship the sub right back to me. i dont know why they wouldnt go for that. they shouldnt care where the cards get shipped back too or who pays.

either way eric and i probably cant be on the same sub, i would assume we might have a good chance of submitting some of the same cards.

  • The price point is $4.50. We have a forum member who will put up the difference to get us to 2,000, whatever that difference is. If you submit 500, it would probably be best to keep you separate and just have them shipped back to you. That would just be easier.

  • I'd be curious to see if you see a bump in the grades. I always assumed that is why 4sc always got the highest grades. PSA like to keep there large submitters happy.

As for the vouchers I do beleive they have the customer number on them which would suggest you would have to use them. If you can have a few bucks tied up keep them and do this again in a few months. Maybe we can put togeither a group effort that rivals the amount of submissions some of the biggest dealers do. If I can get a hundred or two togeither my mid sept I'll get in on this unless the number of submissions your receiving are getting out of control.

    Kevin,

I'll be sending you 25 cards today.

  • Rather than using PayPal gift, I will be collecting money via money orders. I will only accept money orders and not checks. Once we get to October 15th, I will send an email to everyone with your charges for the order, shipping, and insurance. Then I will need a money order for the total. I've heard using PayPal gift a great deal can actually get your account shut down. This is the reason for the money order solution. If anyone has another suggestion, please post to the thread. It will be a bit of a pain, however, since the price varies due to the number of cards I get, I have no way of charging people now. Let me know what you think.

I will just use the name schapko from your post here as your forum user name. Just go ahead and get a list together and send it to my email. My email is "kevin dot oconnor at calripkenjr dot net". Replace the "dot" and "at" with "." and "@". I do it that way so I don't get tons of spam when Google crawls this page for their search.

Once I verify your list, I will need the following:

    1) Your name
    2) Email
    3) Phone Number
    4) Address

I will provide you with my phone number and address after I get your list.

    Thanks,

That's why I'm reviewing the lists before people send. I wouldn't have any way other than splitting them into different orders and keeping track of whose card is on what order. So far it hasn't been an issue.

Would it be ok to post this on the main board? I don't usually check the registry section.. I wouldn't have know about if someone didn't mention it in another thread. If you are trying to get more cards it could boost your numbers. Thanks again for putting this together

  • We are in the final 2 week stretch before the October 15th due date! Please get your lists and cards in as soon as possible to make sure you get in on this! It looks like we may end up with over 2,000 cards if everyone who has responded with lists submits. I will do my best to have some sort of cost figured out by the 15th, but it is dependent on everyone getting their cards in on time. I need to find out how much a registered package insured for roughly $25,000 costs through the Post Office. That is likely how much the insurance will need to be. I will be sending out a email to everyone involved so far asking if you intend to have me insure your cards for the same price to PSA as you have for a declared value. Look for that email soon. I also want to mention that I will be calling PayPal to explain that I would like to collect money through a gift from multiple people to make a purchase and see what they say. If a PayPal gift is not possible, I will accept money orders, or PayPal with 2.9% + $0.30 added to your total charges. This would cover what PayPal would charge me. For people with relatively few cards, this might seem like a more hassle-free option than a money order.

  • Good news for all doing the bulk sub! I emailed PSA and found they can ship all the cards back to their respective owners instead of shipping everything to me first!

So now I won't need to accept the payment for anything except the shipping to PSA. People will be able to pay the following ways:
    1) Check [Made payable to PSA]
    2) Money Order/Cashier's Check [Made payable to PSA]
    3) Credit Card [Do not send me this information over email! Please call.]
    4) PayPal payment [Total plus 2.9% + $0.30]. I would then pay your fees on your invoice and put your address on the form.

Everyone will have their address on the form for direct shipping back to them. This will save us a lot of money and will save me a ton of time and headaches.

The only payment that will be made to me will be for the shipping to PSA. I will pack everything up and go to the Post Office and get an estimate and will send everyone a PayPal invoice with the total.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • The group special is closed. Anyone with their lists in to me will be in the submission. If you haven't gotten your lists to me, or we have been in communication and I was expecting your list, you are still in. If you have any questions, please ask. At this point, I cannot take any more cards. If I take what I've been offered, I may have nearly 3,000 cards and that is way more than I ever considered. The work to get this in is going to be extreme. I will also be adding a small amount to each shipping amount to cover the cost of a membership. This should amount to no more than $5-6 per person. Due to circumstances in my own life, I will not be able to take advantage of the bulk sub I've organized, which is ironic. I hope the work I am doing to save this money for the group is worth this small amount. If people who have paid the $5 would like to continue to submit under this membership, I have no problem with that.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Since PSA is going to ship to each of us, do you want to help yourself out by having those of us that can send a completed PSA form to you with payment? Imagine all we would have to do is leave the member number and pricing section blank and fill out the rest.

I have everything already completed. I need to get the remaining cards to ensure we have over 2,000 (which we will certainly have unless something happens) and then people can send money orders (made payable to PSA), checks (made payable to PSA), call with credit card numbers, or send me a PayPal payment (must include 2.9% + $0.30) made payable to my email. I would then cover your fees. All the cards should be received by October 15th and then we will know for absolute certain we have the rate of $4.50/card. At that point, I will send out an email with your fees all calculated out and you can send payment for the order. After I get everything packaged up, I will take the package to the Post Office, find out the insurance/shipping, and send a PayPal invoice (including 2.9% + $0.30) for the shipping to PSA + the membership fee split over the number of people submitting ($5-6 per person). The order will go out when everyone has paid for shipping to PSA. This shipping amount is pro-rated and the 2.9% will be negligible on any one total based on the estimates I've already plugged into the spreadsheet I have. For example, if your shipping total was $100, you would pay roughly $3. That's not much of anything. Plus, no one is going to pay anywhere near that in shipping. People are saving a ton on shipping to PSA in this large group. We can continue to use this member id for bulk submission and I will continue to accept cards from people to ship on their behalf for those who participated this time around.

I just sent an email to everyone that has sent me cards or is sending me cards. It has details on the next steps. It is reproduced below:

    Hello,
You are receiving this email because you have sent me cards or are about to send me cards for the 2,000-card PSA Group Sub. I am in the process of getting all the order forms ready. I need to do one last verification of the information I have and then I will send out an email to each of you with your PSA totals for your verification. The email will include 2 PDF attachments: 1) your order form and 2) your card list. We have reached the $4.50/card level!

What I need from each of you right now is the following:
    1) How you intend to pay PSA (Money Order, Check, Credit Card). I will need a signed copy of the order form in the credit card section only in order for you to pay by credit card. I will sign the bottom of the order form. I will be sending all the order forms in the next couple days to each of you by email for your review. For those paying by credit card, you will need to print out the order form, enter your credit card information, sign it in the credit card section only, and mail it back to me. All others will just need to send a money order or check for the total made payable to "PSA".
    2) Do you want "No Qualifiers" written at the top of your order form? Yes or No.
    3) Do you want your cards insured to PSA for the declared value entered on your form or for a lower amount to save money on shipping. If you want a lower amount, please specify that amount.

Here is an example of what I need now from each of you:
    1) Money Order
    2) Yes
    3) Same as form

Look for another email from me around Wednesday or Thursday with your totals. It may be sooner, but I need to verify I have all the information correct before I send it out.

When I get all the cards and get the package together, I will send another email with a total to pay via PayPal for the shipping amount to PSA. This amount will be to my PayPal account at "kevin dot oconnor at calripkenjr dot net". This email should happen sometime next week.

If you need my address, please PM or email me at "kevin dot oconnor at calripkenjr dot net".

I appreciate your participation in this group sub and hope to do it again in the future!
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • I have received all the cards! I have to do some verification and check against lists for the last 4 orders I received. I should have all this packed up with a quote for everyone for shipping by around Wednesday 10/17. Then I will send PayPal invoices for your portion of the shipping. Please pay promptly so you don't hold up the group.

I may post a picture of what over 2,600 cards look like. It's quite a sight. It makes me very happy they aren't coming back to me after they are graded! My wife would kill me!

I have a few people to send order forms to for the items I just received today. Please make sure to check your email and if you haven't received a total for payment, please let me know. Farmkidd and Littletweed I just received your cards today and after verification, I will send you an order form, card list, and your total.
