It's been a slow 2012 for me...not much to choose from, but probably this '98 Leaf z2 die-cut numbered to /20.

  • That Aaron needs to get graded asap! Shes a beauty.

Here's another Aaron that I purchased earlier in the year and I just got graded. Came back strong. Love this one.

Awesome Card!!!! Micon, if u don't mind me asking.... What am I looking at cost wise if I want to pick up a OPC Gretzky RC like that? Any tips on buying one/searching for one? That and a Jordan RC are the two cards I plan on trying to purchase this year and I want to make sure I knwo how to approach it. I don't want to jump out and get eaten by the sharks.

Awwwwww!!! I don't even know where to begin with you guys. This is exactly why I'm compelled to start threads like this, you never disappoint. Absolutely amazing cards!! I hope more people post, as well - it's not about how much the card is worth, it's about what it means to you and your collection.

I posted about this card during the REA auction. It's currently the cornerstone of my collection. I've always wanted a Honus Wagner and I finally have one. Joe Orlando (and Carol) - I apologize for the holder, but I have full intentions of crossing it over to the home team eventually...

As a sidebar, I would also like to post the card that I've picked up (in 2012) that has the most sentimental value to me...

    image

Most importantly (to me), it was signed "Doc" Gooden. Super cool!

My mom drove us all over Orlando in 1985 looking for packs of 1985 Topps and pulling a Dwight Gooden was like hitting the lottery. Bill and I's primary Christmas present that year was the JC Penney factory set and I was so excited to pull out the Dwight Gooden.

There are very few baseball cards I want at this stage but I am looking for a 1984 Topps Tiffany PSA 10 of Dwight Gooden. He was simply awesome and I think just like Mike Tyson his collectibles will make a comeback as many look back and realize he was that good without any help. If anything he was working against him self and still dominated.

    Love that card!

Thank you first off. I will admit I'm not a big hockey fan, that being said I grew up loving Gretzky and Jordan as well. I knew if I ever wanted to own a card in my PC it would be Gretzky OPC RC.

I haven't looked at VCP recently on this card, but I believe it was around $5,200-$5,400 last I looked. There really was no plan to buy it when I did. I was just looking and saw an auction on EBay that was ending Saturday afternoon many months ago. I tracked it and decided to put a bid in. I wasn't out bid and paid about a bit under low 4's. I feel it was a good price, and am glad to have it to pass down to my kids. The rough cut is what OPC is all about.

Find one that is nicely centered with sharp corners. Eye appeal is important.

Finally that Aaron may be the nicest I've personally ever seen, incredible!! It looks like almost a reprint with the bold colors. Awesome card, and cards everyone is posting. I hope this keeps going! Great thread you started Jeff.

This was my "white whale" for a few years. It is by far the most satisfying pickup of '12, and my favorite by a close margin. The best part -- rather than overextending myself on a fairly expensive version of this card in a PSA 7 holder, I was able to get this card with the eye appeal of a NM card for thousands less.

CW, that 1954 Dan-Dee Mickey Mantle looks way better than a 5. I remember when you got that one and it definitely worked out really well for you.

I've posted my favorite Seaver card below and it is even still well protected. image

I had been looking for a well-centered Berk Ross for years and years. I could not let this one pass me by. I love it!

Other than this, most of my good pickups for 2012 have not been cards. I picked up a rare doll and pin I had wanted forever!

Some Fabulous cardboard has been acquired this year. Thanks for sharing these cards.
  • Here's my best of 2012 to this point. Recently I have made a pretty severe cutback to my card-buying budget, so chances I won't be topping this one in the second half of the year:

    Jason,
Have you tried Hulu.com? They may have old episodes. Either that or try the actual TV network's site. Many cable networks now offer downloads of old episodes directly on their site.
