Once I started to have a huge collection of wrestling cards and ebay did not like having an ID being your email account I changed it to "Wrestling Card King". Simply shows my collecting interest and King came from a minor play on my last name which happens to be England. When my significant other does something for my collecting habit I tell her that she is the Wrestling Card Queen.

A friend used to take the first letter of your name and add "el" to it and that's what he called you. My last name begins with "M" so I becane Mel. I made Melvin out of it and added 289, the best engine Ford ever made. So, melvin289.

  • CooptownCooptown Posts: 397 ✭✭✭
I have the name Cooptown on here, SCN, and Net54-the baseball card related message boards I frequent. It's short for Cooperstown....aka heaven on earth. I grew up just about an hour outside of Cooperstown, and my Dad and I headed down to Induction Weekend every year from 1987-1998, then again in 2007 and 2008 when I got hit by the collecting bug again. It was literally the highlight of my summer every year, even as an adult when we went in 2007 and 2008. He passed in 2009, and I need to head back there one of these years.

On a lot of sports related message boards and on ebay, I am BonaCuse. Short for where I went to college (St. Bonaventure) combined with where I grew up and my favorite college team (Syracuse).

  • jivanjivan Posts: 1,009
my board name of jivan actually comes from a middle eastern dialect of muchem tuchem which means "turns to crap".....here are a few examples........I bought tons of griffey rookies, frank thomas hi end inserts, vince carter rookies and they all turned to crap $$$$$$.....ah yes, my earlier jivans were albert belle type fiascos....so any type of items i bought, players became totally disbled, got busted on ped's, ran out of gas or just made sure the collectors had no more interest in them... jivan

I remember as a kid my grandpa took me to see Mickey Lolich pitch before he retired and also watch Tom Seaver so we went to a Giants/Mets DH at the 'stick(we always went to doubleheaders!) and I remember you hit a home run and the Giants lost!! I think it was the summer of 1976.
