savitale - Imagine the story those dimes could tell. Nice examples, BTW. Welcome to the Seated thread.
Had a great time at the Baltimore Show these past couple of days. My friend Paesan was there and picked up a couple of nice additions to his Stash. I'll have pics in the next couple of days. In the meantime, here's one already in his Stash, PC40:
Vern l It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got.
is that a proof? or a really really really spectacular MS?
PCGS PR64+CAM. I used to have the OGH PR65, and this coin buries that one.
That's a beautiful coin. I started working on a set of proof seated quarters this year. They're pretty elusive when you're looking for ones with pretty rainbow toning.
Been awhile since I visited this thread so I had a lot to catch up on. I was saddened by seeing MFH posts and being reminded he's no longer with us. Bummer!

@barberkeys, Nice 1861 quarter. I found one of these in a 90% junk lot once and it helped to reignite my interest in collecting. That one was around F12. I recent picked up this one in a GC auction. It's OK, but I'd sure like to own a nice, lustrous MS coin.

If I'm not mistaken, I saw that same 1871-cc in a PCGS VF35 holder at some point. Lots of meat on it!
Ron - Could be. Jim D, do you know?

Not a lot of love for the double dimes here, so here's my new 1876 BF-4, the first one identified in proof.
A little fresh meat...

They're wonderful coins, but finding examples from the 1840s and 1850s with reasonably attractive color is virtually impossible.

Saw this thread pop to the top...and figured it might be a good "small coin" test for my budding photography skills.

I don't HATE the image....but I'm not sure I love it either. (And blowing it up this large, I'm not 100% certain there isn't a PVC issue too!)
Lots of neat coins posted here the past couple of days. Thanks to all.
