Another little project I can finally complete now:
I'm not sure why, but while working on a US type set it took me a long time to gain an appreciation for this series. I drug me feet longer with it than anything but early copper, which I'm still warming up to.
The pieces are finally together. Each has a unique story and it has been fun finding these few coins. I'll never be the connoisseur of the series that many of you are, but I hope each of these represents its denomination well enough.
Bryce - That's a great looking type set, thank you for posting it. If you wouldn't mind, I for one, would be interested in hearing the acquisition stories.

Bryce, that is a great looking set! I am contemplating breaking up my 7070 Type Set and putting together something like yours. Instead of having 15 different Seated Liberty coins (three Half Dimes, three Dimes, three Quarters, three Half Dollars and two Dollars) to having one of the coins without stars, one with stars, one with rays, one with arrows (only) and one with motto. Hmmm that leaves one denomination unaccounted for...I am sure I could come up something, partial drapery or small/large stars.
It would be difficult to let some of my ladies go.
Excellent Set!

Ahhh...the good ole' MPD FS-301 (pick-up point: base of the "1" is on the rim and denticles under the "1" in the date). Low mintage and a variety to boot!

oih8 - Doug will be happy to know that his 1850 is a variety. And I like your pics of your 72-S better. I'm guessing they look more like your coin in hand.

The denticles are weak, but from what I understand it may be late die state or prior to getting the right pressure down after a die swap/exchange?

oih8 - Congrats on the variety find and top pop.
DaveW - Wonderful half dime, it tempted me to expand my horizons when I saw it in your email. Not surprising it sold quickly.
Thanks to all three of you for posting the pics here.
