    Hi Trent and Mike

I'm so glad you guys worked this out!

I'm not going to say anything trite.

Just had dinner with my wife and son - which is the most important thing in my life.

This is gonna sound weird - but the last few weeks has inspired me to stay in our little community and contribute.

    Godspeed.
    Mike

I'm glad you guys were able to talk this out. I did like Gregg (EchoCanyon) tried to do and stayed on the sidelines as it was painful for me to see two guys I consider friends going at it on the boards. First rounds on me. image

I'm glad things got worked out, this board needs more guys like the both of you. image
  • Ok

May his problem stem from the fact that people have been scammed here recently by someone asking for donations for a sickness they didn't really have...

    And

When people post thread after thread of their collections, some people can take that as rubbing in your face...that can create some animosity I think...

The more you post, the more nasty PMs you can expect I guess
  • One hundred and sixty!!!!! I joined this forum to try and learn more about a hobby I love. The only thing I've learned from this useless exchange is a PM is not a PM here. Geeez, and I though Facebook was bad. Glad I wasn't around yesterday to witness this food fight firsthand. C'mon.
  • In response to Cardboardkeeper... I think everyone shoot should just focus on the cardboard... Say cool and move on...

I've stopped posting craigslist finds simply because no one posting appreciates them. I'm sure there are a few onlookers who like to see what people have picked up recently but the overwhelming response to most of it is "What did you pay you probably scammed them", and "You didn't get that on craigslist because I've never found anything there"

    Fixed

But as for what went on here, I was sad to see it but am happy it ended well.
  • Sorry everyone for this BS. I just was really hurt, I am running a contest while I am playing golf and I got that PM that I read on the phone. The business I worked in we dealt with everything in the open and used real time feedback. I forgive Trent, and this thread shouldn't have anymore posts.

Here is the good news. I am going to donate the $1,000 to to great board members charities. $500 to Barry's foundation when he rides this year, and $500 to Doug's triathlon he's doing coming up.

I supported them both last year personally and I will match both of those amounts. So 1K each toward their charity each.

Happy Sunday and Go Tiger.... I'm going to post a contest in a few involving Tiger and today's golf.....

    Love you man....

  • << <i>This thread reminded me of a good old BIN OBO. Mike has a high starting price, Trent comes in with a low ball offer that offends Mike but then after discussion of the items population, VCP info, and scans of the front and back they finally agree at a price that makes them both happy.

Onward and forward gentlemen ... now can we focus on more important things like getting me that PSA 10 Ozzie Smith!!! >>

What do you think of the Ozzie I just picked up? Check the scan?

Big deal. I played in the next group behind Alice Cooper about 30 years ago. image
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

  • bbuckner22....big deal, I played in a group behind Willie Nelson and his entrage several years ago. We all ended up in one group, got kicked off the course and ended up in his bus. Haven't played the game since.

  • Just read most of this (quit reading when it changed to meaningless comments). Am I correct in reading that nightcrawler gave $1000 to a complete stranger that he wouldn't recognize if the guy knocked on his door and got bashed for being a douche? Did I miss something?
  • DWest...read the whole thing this morning myself, pretty much the conclusion I came to, other than the whole thing was pretty meaningless. One thing is pretty clear though...PM = Public Message. I always thought it meant Private Message. Guess I was mistaken.
