It's funny I never noticed the typo in "Outfield" on the Zernial card. Listed as "Onfield".

Sorry Doug, I looked for him on Thursday and couldn't locate him. Maybe I sold it? Hmm...
2.5 is pretty much my speed.

The Zernial is my favorite card in the set. Love it! Ok...who has #32. I want to post my Spahn before I leave for the day. image

Mr. Robinson was purchased as a PSA "3" ... cracked and sent out for the autograph ... and then put back in his slab.

Not sure to which Doug you are referring, but if it is me I have had this scanner for about 2 years ... the one I think a lot of members are now buying ... great pics and less than $100.00. The Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner. I LOVE it.

OK ... Calling Mr. Valo ... Elmer Valo, you are next.

What a bizarre Gus Zernial card! Six balls glued to his bat with an OK sign? Anybody know the story behind this? I Still have dibs for my only '52 191 Yogi?

OK guys ... let's post some more cards. The next three, IN ORDER, are:

    Hank Sauer
    Gil Hodges
    Dune Snider

  • The Zernial card is one of my favorites too. We have a ballplayer here with some personality, a sense of humor. He taped 6 balls to his bat, the story is he hit 6 total homers in 3 consecutive games, the MLB record at the time. Its documented on the back of the card.

Stand by for the Sauer…scanning now

  • #35 Sauer

Nice centering on the Sauer card. Two Brooklyn Dodger greats are next.

I have the entire Cardinals team set, plus I have 10 signed cards. If I post mine, I will post the signed card next to the regular card. Some of my team set is not in the best of grades, but it is complete.

    Here is #38 Wally Westlake.

That's a heckuva nice lookin' 5. Especially next to my Noren. I tip my virtual cap to you sir.
  • PiggsPiggs Posts: 1,939 ✭✭✭✭
I agree on the Trout card, the best reason to have the .5 grade, that should be at least a 5.5. The Noren card is nice because the centering is usually terrible on him. Nice stuff guys.

scanner doesn't pick it up, but there's a surface wrinkle near the middle bottom border of the Dizzy card.....it's been in my Sell It Someday pile for quite awhile, can't seem to let it go. image

Bob Wellman another card hard to find centered. Aren't they all? 42 is next....................................

The best pitch to start a hitter off with is always strike one.

Mr. Scarborough is below. I am out until next weekend but will keep tabs while away. If we get to #166 Paul LaPalme, I call dibs. I look forward to seeing the progression.

image I knew it would get flack BUT THE BACK OF THE CARD READ WAS SO GREAT!! It was timeless!!! That reprint set is approaching it's 30th anniversary BTW. If a card is slow to arrive (12hrs. or so from now on and it is a good read) we should dare to maybe probably almost just about could post it. image
