Just my $.02, which is all any of us really can post, is that the guy simply f'ed up and let life get in the way of a committment (been there, done that), got embarrassed, and is now trying to mount a moderately plausible story while getting you your card. Don't think I buy the address label thing, but at this point getting your card is all that matters.

A couple of times selling on Ebay I have messed up a buyers address (I know not quite the same, but the same idea) and have had the item come back to me due to the PO not being able to deliver it. I always contacted the buyer and let them know what happened and resent the item.
I also kept the packaged item in the SAME ENVELOPE and packaged that envelope in a bigger envelope. This would show what the USPS stamped on the envelope and prove that I was not trying to BS them. I've never used the sick relative excuse, I've always tried to man up and admit when I screwed up.
Has anyone here ever mailed a package containing a card where you didn't put clear tape over the label?? Or is that just me?? When I mail a card, I'm obsessive about taping down all 4 edges of the USPS label, plus another piece across the address panel. +1
My money is that he never shipped the card in the first place. You mean to tell me he coincidentally gets the card back the first mail day after all this is posted on the boards? That defies the limits of credibility.

Seriously, though, he PM'd you back and has said he'll get the card to you. People on this thread have given Jeremy a vote of confidence and now I'll add mine. I've dealt with him in the past as well and there were no issues.

But on a serious note, there's a lesson to be learned here.
Regardless if you're a reputable Seller with a sterling track record or not, don't send a $500 card via 1st class without insurance or DC.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
Unless I know you personally or have done business with you a bunch without zero issues if a seller was to demand I pay them via PayPal gift for an item not only will I be telling you to go and f yourself I will also gladly forward all PMs and emails to PayPals fraud department and enjoy hearing later on about your account being frozen and or closed along with any balance possibly seized.
You expect a payment via PayPal gift in this situation, well I then expect the item in hand and exactly as described before I am clicking send gift payment.
Do dog in this fight, but a related story in a way. I went to the post office yesterday and mailed out my board secret Santa present. When I got my mail today.....there it was. Somehow it came to me. The postage sticker was still on it. I guess it happens.

Once I sent sent 15 tax returns out to the IRS on the 15th. Three days later they came right back to me (certified, return receipt, nonetheless). The post office can make mistakes.
I did that with a tax payment for my small real estate business once. I put IRS but forgot to put the rest of the address or something like that. Either way it was my fault and it cost me a couple hundred in fines. Live and learn....
What's the latest? I would think the card should have arrived by today.
