Beware Mintonly

Posted a auction for my 1954 bowman ted williams psa 4, Mrmint23 hit the buy it now button but stated he might not even pay for item. Ended up selling card for $140 less to him through paypal instead of ebay. cancelled transaction through ebay but today he just left me negative feedback stating i opened up a non-paying buyer against him . This guy has got the be the shadiest person ive ever dealt with. Bought the card for $1000 and sold it to him for $610 and this is how he repays me. Now he has the card listed for sale on ebay for $1200. beware of this idiot. i dont care how much credit he has on this forum, i gave him a deal of a lifetime and he turns around and tries to screw me. Me and him made a mutual agreement to cancel the transaction and go straight through paypal instead. and he got his card right away. No over a month later he gives me negative feedback????? what kind of idiot does something like that

geez. i thot you was hibernatin'.
<< <i>hmmmm, you canceled the ebay auction, sold it anyway to the same guy, then contact ebay about what HE did,, sumptin dont add up,, im surprised ebay didnt revoke your selling rights after what you just described,, i dont buy it,,, j >>
what are you talking about??? we made a mutual agreement to sell outside of ebay so he could get the card for cheaper. and i contacted ebay because he left me NEGATIVE FEEDBACK TODAY and i sold him the card a month ago which he got right away.
<< <i>so you chose mutualy to scam ebay from their fee's for bringing you 2 together and he's the shady one,, i still dont get it,, j >>
scam ebay???? every seller ive emailed about buying one of their cards for a lower price is always willing to go directly through paypal so they can save money. whats wrong with that?? what dont you get??? HE GOT THE CARD AND STILL GAVE ME NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR A TRANSACTION THAT WE MUTUALLY AGREED TO CANCEL ON EBAY
You said "ebay just contacted me saying this issue will be resolved and plan on taking action against him."
Are you going to tell ebay that you don't deserve the neg because you sold him the card through Paypal?
<< <i>no/yea... it just surprises me that after telling ebay your story on how this deal went down, truthfully,, that they are allowing you to still sell,, ebay just scammed out of their fee's, not my point but you called him the shady one, im not an advocate for ebay just cant see you telling ebay the correct way this deal went down and still selling,, sometimes, telling a lil white lie makes you better than the next guy?,,, maybe im seeing it all wrong,, j >>
No i didnt tell ebay that he bought the card through paypal. I told him that he left me negative feedback for a item that we mutually agreed to cancel. Ebay can see the transaction was mutually cancelled so im not worried about getting my feedback fixed
I don't think you are mad because of the feedback, whats really bothering you is that he posted the card for sale on Ebay for $1200. I'm guessing you're like Dang, I should have done that!
Ebay feedback, come on. For a transaction that never happened. Well, Ebay can take care of that. No need to cry here.

Oh, OK. Just checking.
<< <i>mrmint23, why did you leave negative feedback. I t doesn't make sense with what transpired. Let's hear your side.
ask him if he received the card and if we mutually agreed the sale of the card outside of ebay for $610?????
<< <i>If you sold somebody a card for $300 less than what you paid and the seller received the card right away and is now selling it for $600 more than what he paid and then left you negative feedback would you be ok with that??? >>
sorry guy its takes 2 to make a deal go down, i dont know him and i dont know you but calling someone shady for one thing ,you feel bad fb wasnt warranted, but you broke the ebay rules by selling off ebay after u canceled the same auction ebay stood to fill their greedy pockets with,, yea selling off ebay is breaking their rules,, and whatever he does with his card is his business isnt it,, j

Not every seller. I certainly won't do it. And I won't do it as a buyer either.

i didnt even know sellers would do that until somebody on this forum told me about it. saved me alot of money
1) As a seller you cannot leave negative feedback on ebay
2) You probably have your seller settings set up so that if you don't receive payment after a certain amount of days, an unpaid item claim is started against the buyer. That is probably what happened here and prompted the buyer to leave negative feedback. Another possibility is that when you went to cancel the ebay transaction you entered "payment not received" as your reason for canceling, or something similar, which would've caused an unpaid item claim against the buyer.
To the buyer:
1) If that is what actually happened, it was a dikk move to leave the neg if you got the card and are happy with it. A simple email saying "why did you open an unpaid item claim against me" would've alerted the OP to his mistake.
***As a side note, about two years ago the buyer (mrmint23) backed out on a deal for some cards on these boards "due to unforeseen circumstances" and then was seen buying mid grade Mantles like a week later, so take his side for what its worth if he decides to chime in.

Sellers can NOT leave negative feedback. They haven't been able to in several years.

when you can sit in your seat and think about all the shady things others have done to you or you have done to others ie: breaking the rules in your favor,, and it stings so bad that revenge is on the tip of you tongue and a mouse click away, you have just entered the world of ebay buyers vs sellers market, as a seller you have no pot to piss in,, none,, sad to say but in the words of one of my favorite actors in the movie anger management,, say this over and over," Goose frabbahhh,, Goose Frabahhhh"
<< <i>How does one receive feedback on a transaction completed outside of ebay? >>
The way im reading this is that an "on eBay" sale actually did happen, and then one of the parties (not sure who) suggested to not follow through via ebay. If both parties don't mutually cancel then eBay still thinks a sale was made, and therefore, feedback can be left by one or both parties.
The seller must have wanted his fees back, and since the transaction was not mutually canceled, the only way to get them back was by filing a NPB. Then when the buyer saw that a NPB was filed against him he must have said "I'll fix his ass", and left the seller a negative. These are just my best guesses.
Why both parties didn't follow through with canceling the transaction via eBay is still undetermined.
