With silver at $40 and the Mint pricing the new W collector ASE at $60, anyone buying when they go on sale at noon today? I'm not.
Too bad silver coins aren't priced per their PM pricing guide that adjusts weekly with spot.

I knew it would happen.
They might have kept both markets alive by offering the limited issue coins as part of a mixed-bullion set - silver, gold and platinum, or even just silver and gold.
I knew it would happen.

Waiting for the 25th Set.
Unless they're offered separately, I think the reverse proof and the 2011-S from the Anniversary Set will be better values in the long run.

I had 20 orderede but cancelled them. Too expensive for me with the anniversary sets coming out.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
<< <i>I might pick one up on eBay in the future at below Mint issue price or wait for the AP's to dump their load of thousands PCGS graded 70's FS. >>
That is what I was thinking. Why roll the dice on something hoping for a 70 FS when you should be able to get what you want for a lesser price later.
But for me, I've taking the dollar cost averaging approach: I get one or a couple of every issue when they issue it. For some I overpay. For some, they turn out to be low mintages or rarities/high demand down the road for other reasons, and I do well. Beats trying to outmaneuver the Mint at every turn.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

What he said.
I've overpaid for every silver bullion product I've bought form the mint the last six years and have been happy to have done so.
If I get left holding the bag on this issue it's small potatoes.

However, there is one lingering comment that keeps ringing in my head - a comment by ericj in his book.....
Something to the effect that, "Silver Eagles are the new Morgans, and the burnished "W"s are the new "CC"s.
And this year looks to be the lowest mintage in the "W"s, in my estimation.
I'm just sayin'. I haven't decided on these yet, myself.
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>I'd rather save up and get the 25th anniv set >>
Silver will be $60 by the end of the year anyway ! ! !
