However if they did offer these as a set wouldn't that box set be quit a sight to see!
Agreed. I'm seeing a two tier display box in my mind!

There is still hope for the 2011's to be released as a set of 5 or as singles. And the price of the 2011's could be lower because of silvers decline as well as higher mintage. Fingers crossed.
<< <i>Looks like the interest in this coin has gone south. >>
Along with the rest of the silver "bullion rounds."
If so, does that mean some of these ATB coins from the next year or two will be worth double and triple their issue price in the next few years (like the lower mintage First Spouses?).

<< <i>Yeah, for the last one there were half a dozen guys paying people to buy them from the Mint on their behalf. Haven't seen anyone looking for buyers this time around. Seems like the First Spouse coins all over again.

Yes. No. Maybe. My crystal ball is cracked.
The flippant flipper.
I, too, was thinking of the similarity to the 1st spouse "coins"....
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Also consider 2010 gets three of the most visited national parks out of the way quickly.
Quality of the designs will drive these as the places become more obscure. If the Mint can hammer out more good designs like the Vicksburg, these will jump the Spousal shark.
<< <i>I dunno, three out of the five now have sold out in 2-3 weeks, which is pretty good for a product from the Mint. Especially considering that the forum banter has really subsided AND the heavy premium over spot.

Plus the spouses do not have a circulating quarter program going with them. The circulated quarters are just starting to reach the public. I think this program is very very different from the spouses. Will it end up with the same result? I can't answer that. I don't think so but thats just my opinion.

To play devil's advocate against myself, I believe the first-year first spouses sold quickly too. There's also some real market-dilution happening this year with the Mint's products, and the economy is not leaving lots of spare money floating around that can go toward coin collecting.

I think the big drop in silver prices make these less and less of a good deal.

Keep in mind. Last year 34 million ASE's purchased. This year almost 20 million so far. ASE Proofs always hot. More and more will gravitate their silver purchases to something new and fresh once they get a sniff.

I think the Grand Canyon issue will be very popular do to its design but do to my limited budget I am only in for one.

<< <i>Bailing out of the series. Premium to high, resells too low. Not even worth the cost to maintain a personal set. >>
I'll stick with the bullion version...premium over melt is less than the ASE's bullion.
