I called Sunday to find out why my order was still on hold. The rep stated it was a normal hold period. Though this hold period was longer than the rest. Mine just went to process today, but still on backorder status.
Mine just went from "Hold" to "In Process" in the last couple of hours. I checked it early this morning and then again just now. Looks like they are opening the doors.
My GC has a tracking number posted, so the mints printed the label. Hopefully UPS picks it up tonight and it goes next day air like before and I get it tomorrow.
Gotta say, I'm about done with the Ps as well, given the high premiums and almost endless run of antics. I think it is a great series but the bullion with the proof-like finished and price changes to reflect spot are shinier right now. We'll see how the Mint runs its 2011-Ps.

Got mine this AM and very happy with it, complete with the old dude hiker. Not getting mine graded but think this one without defects on close inspection, even to rim and edge.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.

Same here!! Called the mint to find out about rebate of returned postage...CS person told me to include a receipt of my USPS mailing info in the package for re-imbursement. This ought to be fun when I show up at the P.O. with my tape and all, and ask them to process it while not sealed.
My barber received these today. He had two different finishes. The sandblast matte finish and a brilliant finish. Both are P's. He wanted me to check if the brilliant one is by chance in error? He thought they both would have been the sandblasted look. Here are some photos I took on the spot to post here with his question. Thanks for any answers.
Devious, Mine looks to be in the “brilliant” bucket as well. I do not have another to do a side by side comparison as you, but the LACK / NO sand blasting is evident. FWIW, yours looks to be more PL than mine.
Thanks for posting the pics and I am not good at posting pics here at all

Excellent! This is what I wanted to confirm. I'll give my barber a call tomorrow and let him know that there is yet another one known! Thanks for posting about your Grand Canyon puck!

Yes, as Sgt. Schultz would have said "Verrry interesting..."
Looks like a batch may have missed the water blast step or the blaster ran out of the goop they mix with the water. It will be interesting to see how many more turn up. I checked mine and it is normal; I have another arriving later this week. Unfortunately, I just sent off three others unopened to fellow board members so I can't check them...
This also might warrant a separate thread with its own title as I think it's going to get buried in this one...
Devious, AWESOME!!! I've been waiting for this very thing to happen.....accidental proof finish on a P coin. This might just keep me from leaving some sealed.

This is apparently a quote from the Mint posted on Coinupdate today:
The 2010 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins — Yosemite National Park are not sold out. Unfortunately, however, a message saying that a waitlist for the coins had been put into place was inadvertently posted to the United States Mint’s online catalog on June 23. As soon as we learned the message had been posted, we removed it. We also lifted the household order limits for these coins the week of July 4. We regret the error on our part and the inconvenience the posting of the waitlist language caused our customers.
As soon as they learned about it? It takes them two weeks to learn about something posted on their own site?

This IS interesting. I just got my lot of GC's today -- still sealed. HMMMM. To open or not...

Rec'd both GC's yesterday, decided to open one each of the NP2, 3, & 4.
Though the Yellowstone (one of the two) appears to have some rim blemishes on both sides, NP3 & 4 appear to be perfect. Can't speak for the unopened duplicates, but likely to stay unopened for the forseeable future...
Beautiful coins, I might add a couple more, but no desire to complete the set.
We'll see how it goes...

How do you crack the Mint shipping code if not a registered user?
My email notification showed the huge tracking code, but when I checked my account it showed USPS to my PO box. Good.
My wife's email notification also showed a really long tracking code, but nothing regarding what shipment method.
If you are not registered with the Mint, but place a "guest order", are they still shipping FEDEX? That's how hers was shipped in the previous P pucks.
Thanks,
Bob
Edited to correct how I found out my shipment method.
<< <i>OK...be honest now...with a potential production error on the table, how many of you are now ordering additional GC pucks?!? >>
I thought about it, but not sure if I'd wind up with someone's defective returned puck. Does the Mint put the returns back into the pot of unsold pucks?

It needs to be submitted, maybe it gets a unique error designation?
Then again, it may come back MS62.
Ya never know.
