<< <i>No More for me stopped just before yosemite, my one buddy wants to continue to get the set even with the poor results from grading the first 4. It amazes me to look thru coin world and see all the ads for sp70 . Has anyone gotten a sp70 back from the first 2 on this board? Enjoy >>
For the 2010 P,s I have a SP69 , SP68, and the last one SP69 , the GC was sent in July 11.
Well, to update this thread, that puck will be going out with a submission order tomorrow afternoon. I will be picking it up and I also will be requesting his mint order number from which that puck arrived. I'll keep everybody posted from order numbers to PCGS results... It's cool to have a guy who does so little with coins other than buy the local towns' silver to have received this from the mint. He's one of only 3 known coin guys in this tiny town so we're all buzzed!

Are you submitting it as an error? Did you consult with PCGS before filling out the submission?
I think this is a very cool error - reminds me of the 1999 W unfinished proof gold eagles...

I was planning on submitting it under their error service. I suppose I should contact CS this afternoon and verify. I have 24 hours
I have no idea where they came from. When 100 coins show up in 3-4 days, you are just a processing machine. After the payment goes out, then I look closer at the coins, and I too noticed a few with different finishes.
I went back and counted. I have 50 coins sitting on my desk, and 8 have the brilliant finish (less PL then the original 5, but an obvious different finish). About 5 have a partial matte finish. it appears there are 3 distinct finishes.
My guess is the most brilliant coins missed the final stage of vapor blasting.

No...I believe if the coin is marked as damaged, they melt it down.
I think someone on the forum posed this question directly to the Mint in the past.

Thanks, Rich. I just ordered another one, rolling the dice for a PL puck.

Segoja, by "different finish" do you mean light vapo-blasting or complete lack of blasting? Thanks for the post.
It would be interesting to hear from MCM to see if they have any reports.

Probably two that I sent you!
Makes you think twice about selling unopened boxes. Opportunities like this don't come around that often...

We'll see what they call them at PCGS
