Strasburg was striking out 12 major league hitters a game when his were going up. Harper wont have that luxury. There are too many other Harper options out there in this set alone. Its numbered to 25...there are 23 yet to be pulled and probably more this week. Get it on ebay with a BIN of 7k or so with a BO .
It's somewhat humorous to see the word invest in the auction title when everyone here is telling the OP to dump the card as quickly as possible before its value plummets, LOL..
Good luck with the sale!

The OP was a snake oil salesman in a past life I think.
It wasn't only mine as I busted 2 cases with a friend.
It yes it may be humorous...
Again last night was our chance to list it for 10 days. Will there be the normal traffic flow on EBay Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday??? I'm betting that there won't be. I'm betting on the fact Tuesday after the holiday will have higher than normal volume/bidders and that will make up that 10 percent. I think I did pretty good with the scans.
I've made a lot worse decisions...
Maybe it's the fact that this is my first "real" debate on here that I've been involved in, maybe it's my insecurity and negative attention is better than none... Lol

Your scan is fine.....so is your excitement and enthusiasm. Its simply human nature to want the most money possible for an item we wish to sell. However, to make a claim in bold letters in your description that "this card can only go up in value" is simply over the top and a false statement. It makes you appear to be a sheister, much like a used car salesman. Why would you make such a claim in your description? Will you GUARANTEE that this card will be worth more in 1 year than the winning auction bid? If not, then saying that the card will only go up in value is a very poor claim.
It would be nice to spell the guy's first name right. After all it is right there on the card, front and back. And, by the way, it is NOT his rookie card either. If it was it would have the designation on it like the others from the set.

<< <i>THERE IS ONE ON EBAY FOR 10K THAT WON'T LAST LONG. >>
That's a little over the top inaccurate.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
That link explains why I have no interest in rookie cards these days and why the hobby has been ruined for me. Who cares if a certain rookie card is #'d/25. There is another parallel of the exact card #'d/5, then another #'d/50, then another #'d/100, then another #'d/250, then another #'d/500. Then repeat this with another brand by the same company....then repeat it again for another company.... its total chaos and confusion. Are any rookie cards at that point truly "short-printed"??
<< <i>then repeat it again for another company.... its total chaos and confusion. Are any rookie cards at that point truly "short-printed"?? >>
I get your point, and it's fairly accurate, but technically all the cards are going to be coming from the same company, since only Topps has an MLB licence at this point.
And I agree that the manufactured rarity is mostly just a gimmick, but you can't really blame people for liking these parallels. It's sort of like how people pay huge money for the T206 variations. Is the Doyle error/variation card really worth paying $100,000 more for because it says "Nat'l" on the front? Most folks on this site appreciate the 1993 Finest Refractors, which are just a shiny versions of the base card. Some people like the different and "rare" cards, however it is they came into existence. Once you get over the fact that it was intentionally manufactured differently, it's really just the same thing....a rare version of the card.
You really do need to correct the spelling in the title; you'll get a lot more eyes on it when you do.......

I agree, but there is a difference between that and making outrageous claims. Saying that "this card can only go up in value" when the primary point of this thread is to list this card as quickly as you can before the value of the card plummets is a bit disingenuous, don't you think?
I wish the OP best of luck with the sale!

Well the 10 day auction is probably gonna hurt you. Someone else just threw up another orange auction with no reserve starting at $.99, and it ends before the OP's. Care to guess which one will sell for more?
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.
That's a very nice card, congrats! Honestly though, it will hurt the final value with the name spelled wrong in the title as it probably won't come up with the normal search function for "Bryce Chrome" or something of that effect that people will use to find it.
I don't think the 2nd listing will hurt much, there's a good chance that the underbidder on the 2nd auction will up his bid for the next one......of course if another is listed before end time then it will be bad news for the OP.

Im actually thrilled that another was just listed and will end BEFORE the OP's listing. The OP was warned multiple times NOT to do a 10 day auction for this exact reason, yet went ahead and did one anyway. This has turned from a "hypothetical" discussion into an actual live experiment. I believe that the newest listed one.....the one that ends 1st, will outsell the OP's card. I also believe that at least 1 more of these will appear on ebay before either of the other 3 sell. As I said in my 1st post on this thread, its all a matter of the "bigger fool" theory. Lets see if the bigger fool pays stronger money for the one ending 1st, or the one that ends 3 days later.
There are 184 views, 44 watchers, 21 bids. My friend who is a big group case breaker put up a post on Trading Card Central. It will be in a few more spots tomorrow as well. He made sure the link he created to the card was spelled correctly.

The bigger fool theory applies to situations where someone buys an asset for a price that they think exceeds the asset's intrinsic value because they believe they can sell it to someone for an even higher price and turn a profit. That is not the situation here, since the buyers' motives for purchasing the card are not the topic of discussion.

So nobody who bids on that card has any intentions of flipping it for more down the road? They are all "end users" huh?
I just cancelled my bid, I find it EXTREMELY odd that I place the bid and it happens to get bid to exactly that by someone with extremely low feedback, I'm sure it will go higher but I DO NOT want to deal with ANYONE shilling their own auctions.

Looks like a classic case of shilling to me. But IM the douche!
I don't know about everybody else, but when I have an item in my watch list and notice that it drops in price I generally look to see why, first thing I look at is bid retractions and then look at current bids to see if it looks like shilling. If I deem it to look like shilling I shy away. Now might be a good time to end and relist as a 3 day auction. I am by no means insinuating that it is a case of shill bidding, but if others think it is that will likely cause you to have a npb or to end up with lower bids.
