Came today - could've been packed better - was the chance of damage - tho none happened.

He kept the sigs clean - gotta give him credit.

Although I'm far from devastated, it's quite sketchy that Barnes & Noble would feign lack of product to get people to cancel (March 13th and again to confirm for a 30 delay or lose your order on March 14th), then start shipping the 15th, obviously it was all BS...

Mill Creek Sports just announced a private signing with Cal. Here are the prices:

    Basic Items $149
    Bats & Jerseys $199
    Inscriptions $30

I have to think SOMEBODY (who does not know better) is going to buy an non-autographed version of HOTHEAD, send it in for an auto and give it to someone as a gift ... thinking they are giving something unique!
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • I placed two orders and they arrived safely yesterday and today. I was hoping it would say autographed edition somewhere so you would not have to get it authenticated. Oh well, still a great deal.

That is a VERY funny thought.

More important to collectors is there all first editions, thats where the money's at,, depending how many 1st print editions there were,,, the fewer the better,,, j

I received my book yesterday. I plan on getting Doran to make a cut auto for me. It's going to have to be a much larger card because of the size of the autograph.
  • I don't know if anyone else has seen, but there are quite a few for sale on ebay. Most are $24.99 for auto 1st edition. One person is asking $19.99, and another person is asking $99.99(he's crazy).

I would like to personally thank Tedw9 for turning us onto the site to get ours for $9.99. I bought a dozen and have already given 5 away as gifts, and my friends love them.

    Thanks again to Tedw9!!!!!!!!!!!

Your very welcome! image I'm glad it all worked out and they were signed by Cal. I would have felt horrible if they had been signed by the other guy!

I'm glad I could hook up my friends. image

    Yeah, thanks again Steve.

I only bought one and so glad I did. Never had a Cal auto before. One of these days, I'll actually read the book too

<< <i>Found this on another site and thought I would share with all of you. Cal Ripken is putting out a kids story about baseball. Barnes and Nobel has the autographed edition for $9.17. One person said they called B&N and they confirmed it is autographed by Cal. That's a steal for a Cal autograph.

And even if it turns out to not be signed, your only out $10 or so. I took the chance and ordered one and thought others may want to take that $10 risk also.

Thanx for posting this offer Steve!

A great addition to my auto book collection. image

I don't care for what was done.

It's hard to believe someone would pay 80 bucks for that - but I might be wrong?

I was just thinking again - it's a shame these copies weren't affixed with a sticker: "auto copy"
