Just my opinion but 08 and 09 were probably the two worst Heritage years produced. But there was a lot of trading going on here.
  • magellanmagellan Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭
I liked the '08's as far as set design went, the 09's not so much. I think the economy definitely hit this type of card the last 2 years. I know it affected my buying.

people are getting smart and just buying sets, I have never had so many people looking to buy than this year. Trading has been down because the
collation has been much better and guys are getting this set done with a case or so. What sucks is that what few high end autos have been pulled
have almost always been ebayed to recoup losses. I am one card from being very happy with this trading season however, a few long time traders
    always come through.

My 2011 set is for sale (minus a few Jackie's, as is my 02, 03 and 04 sets.

    Thanks

I've said it before, i'll say it again, 2005 was the high-water mark for heritage. just a drop-dead gorgeous set and top-notch auto list (aaron, yogi, feller, etc)

I still like them all, but 2005/2003 are my all-time faves.

of course i just picked up 12 boxes of unopened heritage from 2002 - 2005 - will post rip result on the board next week.

Since i am down to pretty much needing the 2008 High Number Master Set, should i rip a case? if so, will that get me the complete Set?

It will probably get you a complete set, and if it doesn't it will certainly get you enough trade bait to pick up the rest.

I think what this post needs before it heads into the archives are some pics of the great cards we pulled and/or traded for and are now parts of our heritage collection.
Maybe we could each post 3 or 4 of our favorite cards. It turned out to be a tough year for ink, but a few trades with some dependable traders on here and I have a few
nice cards. They happen to be all of the same guy, but Im ok with that. The 14/62 is his jersey # and that is super cool.

  • Those are nice hits indeed Kev, my laptop fried or I would post some pics. Guess I can pull some of the scans from ebay to show. The highlights for me this year are all the Cardinals stamps except for the Holliday/Latos which has not shown up on ebay yet, a few autos, and 3 of the Topps Vault blank back Cardinals cards. Here are the autos.
