the wife was jonesing for some Cadbury mini eggs to satisfy her chocolate addiction. Rather than risk strangulation in my sleep, I hit the new Super Wal-Mart. They didn't have what she wanted, but they did have several blasters. Grabbed the one in front and left the rest. My will power has been good for the past year, so whatever's left can wait for someone else.
Before I get accused of having twisted priorities, I didn't forget to pacify the wife - went next door to Super Target and found the eggs. Target didn't have any Heritage at all. Maybe my will power isn't any good after all.
In the same boat. I can't afford to put together a set but I like buying packs to have for autos this summer. My Target was sold out 3 days after getting them in.
well, I have plenty of base cards and a fair amount of SP's if someone wants to go that route with cash, I know busting packs if much more fun. We can only hope that there is a reload on heritage retail next week, as it looks like there wasn't this week.
well, the red tints are harder to pull but the target gravity feed boxes were more than twice the size of the walmart boxes. The blue tints are getting very little respect on ebay, perhaps because they are so hard to distinguish from the regular cards. If it does turn out that each walmart only got say 24 packs yielding 4 blue tint cards, then those will be quite rare. I think what sucks is that besides the Ruth cards, the three tint sets and the chrome sets are devoid of star cards. Clay at topps hasn't gotten back to me on that.
Got a nice hit out of my very last box of the multi case break...even if it's not really a Heritage card I still take it. Only a phone pic, haven't had time to scan it yet.

Are the cards signed like the Ryan only available in Heritage??? or can you get them in the regular topps issue also????
Nice Ryan! The Topps 60th autos will be spread out over a number of sets - I want to say the Bryce Harper was in Bowman Platinum?
Can anyone who has a red tint or an SSP in hand look on the back and confirm the code in the fine print on the back? It would be nice if it were a different code for each tint, but all my bles and greens say 9911109 - at least it's a way of telling them apart from Base cards. I'd be curious if the SSP's have a different code or if they are the same as base.

Thanks to some great trading, I'm down to just the following cards to wrap up the 2011 set. 428 436 439 442 448 449 453 457 458 471 478 485 486 491 493 496 498 500 NAP 1 3 5 8 9 10 11 12 15 Baseball FB 3 4 5 10 News FB 3 4 5 10 T&N 1 3 5 6 7
I've got the following extras: Chrome 57 58 65 84 94 Refractor 64 SP 425 446 464 NAP 14 BF 8 I've also gota Justin Morneau jersey card with a stripe, if someone's working on the Clubhouse Collection.
I have come to the realization that this set is not for me. The idea of having to subject my 50 year old eyes to the task of checking those tiny serial numbers on the card backs simply becuase I can't figure out all the subtle variations is NOT my idea of fun collecting.

I tend to agree with you.....I actually had to take off my glasses and read the back of the card....either my eyes are shot, I need a new prescription or as you say it's just too hard to figure it all out.....although I must say that whoever discovered the numbering scheme on the back is a lot smarter than I. I way I found the AROD was by checking the numbers, otherwise it would have slipped by as just a double I pulled out of pack since I already had purchased his card from another threadee.
I noticed the different codes for the Ruth's also....not sure what is all means anymore......sort of like trying to figure out what my kids are into these days
Had to go out of town for a few days, trades will be going out in tomorrows mail. Didn't find any Walmart retail along the way, but did find 5 blasters and 47 loose packs at Target....rip report coming shortly.
There is a Vlad #125 SSP? up on ebay right now that shows his position as P on the back. Also shows a regular Vlad card back with the correct position.
weird - I have no idea what's going on with that. #125 in the '62 was Gene Woodling, another OF. I did a google search for any Woodling errors, corrected or not, and came up empty.
<< <i>weird - I have no idea what's going on with that. #125 in the '62 was Gene Woodling, another OF. I did a google search for any Woodling errors, corrected or not, and came up empty. >>
I was thinking the same thing and nada. Anyone have a 62 Gene Woodling that they can confirm whether this happened in the original set?
I'll start sending some PM's in the next couple of days. I don't have much 2011 Heritage, but if anyone needs anything from other years, I am your man. If anyone has any red, blue, or green tints they would like to trade, please let me know! Also interested in any chromes, refs, green refs, or black refs.
To get some trades going, how about this FloodMap Special:
2-For-1
I'll trade 2 of my chromes for any 1 of yours that I need for my set. Same goes for refractors and even black refs! I have tons to trade on my tradepage, and if you're into autographs and game-used, check my photobucket site. I still need 95% of everything out there, so let's make some trades! Basically trading for anything other than regular SP's and inserts.
Here's my need list or other years - if you can hit any of these, you get extra bonus points.
so is it safe to assume that the different code numbers at the end of the copyright information mean something very specific? It looks like the SSPs have different code numbers, right? Could it be as simple as looking at only that, instead of scrutinizing the rest of the card for clues? Am I looking for something that isn't even worth looking for?
my sample group is extremely limited, so I'd love for you guys to help me flesh out this list.
9911101 = all base cards including short prints 9911103 = Babe Ruth special #142 and 144 - why would the base Babe Ruth cards have special codes... 9911104 = Babe Ruth special #143 - ... and why different codes for different cards? 9911105 = Rookie Parade?? I've only got two, so need confirmation on this. The other two SPs I've got have the common 9911101 code. 9911106 = Jackie Robinson special #135 and 141 9911108 = SSPs? Confirmed "08s": Vladimir Guerrero w/ pitcher on back, David Wright Cin. Reds, 9911112 = refractors: I've got a green, and have seen a couple /62 blacks with "12". Are /562 refractors also "12"? 9911116 = Then and Now 9911117 = Baseball Flashbacks 9911118 = News Flashbacks 9911122 = Real One autos 9911126 = Flashback Auto /25 9911130 = Clubhouse Collection 9911143 = checklists
so after a little more research on eBay, I think we all need to be looking for serial numbers that end in 08.
The codes can be entered into a system and you can see where and when the cards were made. Most are made at the facility in China. I will try to look for the link
from what I can figure out from Topps' code site is that they don't know what the heck they're really talking about. Every code I've entered that had anything to do with Heritage had the wrong year. A couple of the codes I entered didn't say anything about Heritage, instead they came up as "2011 Topps BB Series 1 End Cap Mega Box"
much more likely, I don't know what the heck I'm talking about
<< <i>much more likely, I don't know what the heck I'm talking about >>
No worries, I'm fairly certain that isn't a requirement here.

three short prints, so I pretty much kicked the odds straight in the junk.
I can use #444 and 461
I've got 428, 491 and 498 to return. Three for two if someone can make it match up. Oh wait, I can use a base 174 for as well. Three for three.

I think there are three players in each Topps set, so regular Topps Series 1 has these cards too, but they are three different players.

What I'm selling
Building Sets, Collecting Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders
To get some trades going, how about this FloodMap Special:
2-For-1
I'll trade 2 of my chromes for any 1 of yours that I need for my set. Same goes for refractors and even black refs! I have tons to trade on my tradepage, and if you're into autographs and game-used, check my photobucket site. I still need 95% of everything out there, so let's make some trades! Basically trading for anything other than regular SP's and inserts.
Here's my need list or other years - if you can hit any of these, you get extra bonus points.

Won't Topps release the SSP's soon? As in year's past.
Isn't the reverse negative A-Rod pretty obvious that it is one?
Not sure why we need to look for the small number on the back, is that for tracking or counterfeiting?
my sample group is extremely limited, so I'd love for you guys to help me flesh out this list.
9911101 = all base cards including short prints
9911103 = Babe Ruth special #142 and 144 - why would the base Babe Ruth cards have special codes...
9911104 = Babe Ruth special #143 - ... and why different codes for different cards?
9911105 = Rookie Parade?? I've only got two, so need confirmation on this. The other two SPs I've got have the common 9911101 code.
9911106 = Jackie Robinson special #135 and 141
9911108 = SSPs? Confirmed "08s": Vladimir Guerrero w/ pitcher on back, David Wright Cin. Reds,
9911112 = refractors: I've got a green, and have seen a couple /62 blacks with "12". Are /562 refractors also "12"?
9911116 = Then and Now
9911117 = Baseball Flashbacks
9911118 = News Flashbacks
9911122 = Real One autos
9911126 = Flashback Auto /25
9911130 = Clubhouse Collection
9911143 = checklists
so after a little more research on eBay, I think we all need to be looking for serial numbers that end in 08.
thoughts?

from what I can figure out from Topps' code site is that they don't know what the heck they're really talking about. Every code I've entered that had anything to do with Heritage had the wrong year. A couple of the codes I entered didn't say anything about Heritage, instead they came up as "2011 Topps BB Series 1 End Cap Mega Box"
much more likely, I don't know what the heck I'm talking about

No worries, I'm fairly certain that isn't a requirement here.
Working on the following: 1970 Baseball PSA, 1970-1976 Raw, World Series Subsets PSA, 1969 Expansion Teams PSA, Fleer World Series Sets, Texas Rangers Topps Run 1972-1989

I had to scan the back and blow it way up for my tired eyes, but my Chamberlain 9911109.
