MMM Silver Ingot

MeltdownMeltdown Posts: 8,789 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here's a couple neat pieces I found yesterday. Anyone know anything about the triple M stamp?
The old pour ingot is stamped 999.5 FINE 1.93 OZ MMM

The other is from the Banco Minero Del Peru - they sell for more than spot on ebay, so that
makes me feel better about paying $21.85 for it.

That MMM bar is one ugly bar. Looks like someone drilled a hole for an assayers test? Or used it for target practice with his air gun. Did you weigh it to see if it weighs the indicated ounces? Could be one of Gecko's test bars?image

I agree it is ugly on the reverse, but it weighs correctly on my scale.

the MMM sells for a premium on ebay. I've seen it sell for 30+/oz. However yours has a gigantic hole on the back, however should still do well. I forgot what the MMM stands for, sorry.
