I think those Scottsdales look pretty darn cool.

Huh? I dont think you understand. I took my profits on those pandas, while the numismatic premiums were so strong. I basically took 17 oz of gold pandas and turned it into 21oz of AGEs. Was a terrific deal that I dont regret at all. Those Scottsdale rounds are 3rd tier at best, and just a half a step up from generic x-mas rounds IMO. Buy what you like, but beware of the ramifications.

It's $400, I think I can live with it. It makes up 20 oz of some 3000+ of silver that I have. Thought the whole point of Metal Porn was so people could see all kinds of bullion. I'll make sure to consult with you next time to make sure it is up to your standards. I really do not give a image if you like it or not, IMHO

image I think they look nice as well. I have a mixture of ASE, maple's, libertads, and prospetors for my rounds. If I found some Scottsdale rounds for a nice price, I'd get some of them too. Like you said, buy what you like.

I doubt it...Obviously you have no idea how popular that design is...Just follow Scottsdale bars and now rounds on eBay for a while and you'll "whistle a different tune." About 1 year ago, I had the same mindset as you, but it did not take long for me to change my mind. Best overall premiums on any recent issued bars ... even makes the current ASE's look bad.

Since when is 999 fine silver in any shape or form considered "crap"?

I managed to buy 97 ounces of .999 silver today along with some 90% not shown

Group photo below. Coolest piece for me is the two octagonal ounces.... the cost to make them must have been brutal.

Well, taking pictures on my cell phone is a pain... how about a verbal.

    3x 10 oz sealed Englehards
3x Swiss Bank bars serialed 1oz's
6x Deak and Perera bars serialed
    3x 1984 Prospectors
    8x 1986 Ellis Island commemoratives
1x 1886 - 1986 Statue of liberty centennial on one side. On the other: "Give me your tired, your poor... "
    8x 1982 A-Mark Liberty Silver
8x "1975 The International Silver Trade Unit" These have a raised hump in them representing the globe. Kind of cool.
1x "The International Silver Trade Unit" and "Let freedom Ring" with a raised Liberty bell undated
2x Silver Trade Unit with and Eagle and Flag
    1x faux peace dollar
    4x silver eagles. 2 from 1987 and 2 from 1999
    2x Octagonal Silver Trade units
1x Franklin mint 1000 grains bar from Franklin center PA
19x Misc art bars from the 70's
1x 1972 Apollo XVII - Last Apollo lunar mission from the Carleston mint
4x Ronald Reagan 1oz coins in presentation box from the Rarities mint in 1986

  • Actually it is a Hexagon silver oz. since it has 6 sides. I have seen that that before at a coin show. The Hexagon 1-oz silver was minted in 1980 by the Crown Mint. I see a Hamilton Mint art bar and it looks like it from the 50-bar series called the "Greatest Americans" but I am not completely sure about that. The Silver art bar that is beside what appears to be the Deak and Perera bars near the left hand side appears to be a "Nassau Balloon" silver art bar that was minted by the Madison Mint.

Congrats on the "silver porn" purchases. image
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a '70's silver art bar expert but I try my best to play one on the Internet.
