How excited am I for 2010 A&G...I finally bought my first 2010 A&G, a blaster box from Target. This Tuesday night, after cheap margarita night. I went home and went to sleep. Yesterday, I completely forgot about the box. Today I am at work, and if I remember I will open it tonight. Or I might try to stretch it out a few more days.
Of the 7 boxes I opened last month, the highlight was definitely getting the Victorino rip card and ripping it. So, I was able to sell off most of the remnants of the boxes I busted a few weeks ago and I decided to use that $ and splurge on a few unripped rip cards. I picked up a Couglan unripped for under $70 last week and it came in today. I ripped it and inside was and EXT mini Andre Either......exactly the same card that was inside my Victorino. What are the odds of that...
Anyone know what's up with the "retail only" World's Biggest set? WB1 to WB5 sell for like $1 each on eBay, but the ones from WB6 to WB25(?) (I can confirm that there are at least 23) sell for $10+ each on eBay.

Not sure, but I had 4 of them, 3-4-7-14 and listed them for a BIN of $21.50 and it lasted 5 hours and was gone.

The local Walmart had blasters today, broke down and bought 2. Nothing amazing, but for blasters they were fantastic...Everth Cabrera Auto, Adam Lind Auto, Alan Francis NNO, and Kendry Morales Bazooka. Fun little rip, but not fun enough to sucker me in to buying more.
I think I remember someone here posting that they'd either purchased or pulled a Kazmir auto. I went back through the posts, but didn't see anything. Maybe I'm going crazy. Anyway, I found a Vernon Wells blue ink offline today which leaves me only needing 2 autos - 1) Brees (which can be had on Ebay) and 2) Kazmir (don't come up very often). I'm not going after Pujols or Strasburg. If you're the owner of the Kazmir, pls PM with a price that would make it worth your while if you're interested in selling. Thx.
walmart 8 gravity feed packs 3 hi# biggest i'd say that box is shot as far as biggest hi's go. saw on another board you get about 3 hi # giggest per each gravity box.

I decided to do the Mni base set and have already received help in that endeavor from folks here. Thank you all and hope to do many more trades in the future.
One thng I do not understand here is how you all get PSA-10's I have never made one. I sent in cards back in 2000-2002 and never made one. My old eyes will never make one now.
I also finished a 1975 Topps Mini NY Yankee team set back then that took me 3 years to do in PSA8+
I just looked and it was still active even though I had to sell it and most of my cards back in 2003-2005 when my wife was sick. I went in and retired it, (#2 all time, some guy named Bergquist is #1 ) I hope no one needed the cards for their registry set. It was kind of heartbreaking looking at the set after all these years knowing how much work I put into it.
I'm glad to see this thread still going well. Even though Ginter has been out a while, much of it is still a great mystery including print runs and checklists. I honestly think that topps doesn't know what they put in their products.
Anyway, I got two more boxes today pulled a Jeter Celestial Stars card and a Philbin auto. VERY happy about that, pulled a Kershaw in the other box and bought a stack of minis plus a Summer Sanders auto for dirt cheap. I am still on vacation but would be very interested in trading when I get back. I should have my checklists and access to cards, but I just can't ship yet if anyone wants to do a trade. I still need quite a few regular minis.

Anyone see that video on YouTube showing the pack searcher that got 20+ hits after he cleaned out local stores?? Made me sick. The fact that packs are searchable that way shouldn't make you not want to collect the set. I think several people here just buy a few sealed hobby boxes and don't fool with buying packs in stores. Sadly, I guess thats the only way you know you're getting real odds on hits. I was trying to think of what Topps could do to prevent pack searchers in the future. I'd like to see them put a "framed" insert card in every pack so that you couldn't tell anything by fondling them. But in most packs, the frame would have a picture of Michael Eisner flipping you the middle finger so you'd know you got a loser pack instead of an auto. Just my .02.

He may have been working on a graded silk set, and is now sellling off the silks that were not in good enough shape to submit to PSA. I know a guy who does this with red autos. He bids on all red autos and then resells the ones with bad corners or scratched surfaces.
Has anyone seen or heard of either a blue ink Kazmir auto or a Sig Hansen auto in red ink or blue? I know we debated that the Hansen didn't exist a few weeks ago, but wondering if any updates? I'm tired of checking ebay every night.

And now I am actually genuinely done with 2010 Ginter. I wasn't too keen on this year's set, to the point that I don't feel the desire to drop $20 on a blaster, but up to this point it had been the only 2010 retail product I could bring myself to buy when out buying groceries. Knowing how easy it is for someone to swoop in and suck out some of the fun is a total buzzkill.
Also, I felt damn silly fondling packs of cards at 2am. I am so not cut out to be "one of those guys."

I couldn't believe Topps made it so easy to tell which packs have hits in them this year. I had hoped they were just making it up. On a whim late last night, I decided to see if it was indeed that easy at the local Meijer while restocking on pudding. DON'T JUDGE ME! I NEED PUDDING SOMETIMES, OK?! Anyway, it IS that easy. The so-called hot packs do bend differently than the rest. Once you feel it, you can't unfeel it.

The fact that packs are searchable that way shouldn't make you not want to collect the set. I think several people here just buy a few sealed hobby boxes and don't fool with buying packs in stores. Sadly, I guess thats the only way you know you're getting real odds on hits. I was trying to think of what Topps could do to prevent pack searchers in the future. I'd like to see them put a "framed" insert card in every pack so that you couldn't tell anything by fondling them. But in most packs, the frame would have a picture of Michael Eisner flipping you the middle finger so you'd know you got a loser pack instead of an auto. Just my .02.

He may have been working on a graded silk set, and is now sellling off the silks that were not in good enough shape to submit to PSA. I know a guy who does this with red autos. He bids on all red autos and then resells the ones with bad corners or scratched surfaces.
