Wow, guess i picked a good year to bail out on ginter. first year i haven't even bought a pack, sorry to hear there is such minimal trading, this board is usually great for that kind of fun. Hopefully heritage 2011 will bring back the usual crew of great traders.

I am beginning to think that the Sig Hansen auto isn't actually in the set. What are the odds that this many weeks after hobby was released, after several hundred cases have been ripped, that not 1 single copy has shown up on Ebay?

Well I see that the Sig Relic is a redemption card. Wonder if they mistakenly ment to also do a redemption card for his sig and it didnt get inserted. Are there any other redemption cards in this years sets for relics???

No hits in a hobby box? If you save the wrappers and box you can send it into Topps and they will make it right. The only reason I know this is Topps Magic Football had the same issue and my local card dealer returned several boxes for people.

Unless you want a 750 card base set (which A&G would never do), then its bound to happen that "your guy" will get left out from time to time. If you like getting Jeter's base in psa10 every year, I'd just get his sketch card (AGHS3) from the 2010 set instead, which is also a normal sized card, not a mini.
Although marginal players and rookies may be overlooked, it seems inconceivable to me that a major product release would neglect Derek Jeter. Inexcusable

There is NO Derek Jeter within the 350 base cards and NO Derek Jeter within the 351-401 rip Minis. So out of 401 cards which is in a way the complete set no Jeter. I collect Jeter base cards. Unless I missed something or missing him in the 350 base - 351-491 rip minis checklist. His name is not on there. I see names I never even heard of on the base checklist. Topps won't be getting any $ out of me on this product. Again I am extremely disappointed.

Certainly its silly to think that it would take 750 cards to get to a base Jeter. My point was only that A&G isn't like some of the 80's topps sets where pretty much every player on every roster was represented. 750 is what it would take today to accomplish that feat with 25 man rosters. 350 base set means less than 50% of roster players will have a spot. Now, you'd think that Topps would over-represent that 350 with consistent all stars and fan favorites like Jeter. On the flip side, maybe Topps was thinking that Jeter is already well represented in the set. I found 5 different cards where a Jeter fan can find him in 2010 A&G - Celestial Stars, RIP Card, Sketch card, artist proof sketch card 1/1, Yankees cabinet card which features Jeter hoisting the trophy. Thats not exactly "leaving him out" of the set.

Honestly I rather not have a sketch , artist proof etc etc insert card. I rather have a traditional base card.
There is a theory that the missing Jeter had something to do with this years crack the code. If it makes you feel any better Griffey was left out of heritage one year and I believe Pujols one year in ginter also.
Hmmm, interesting. One other thought I had is how stupid it was for A&G to include the blue-border framed autos of Topps employees. I still haven't heard whether these were just handed out to employees, who then flipped them on Ebay, or if they actually put them in packs. I can't tell you how PO'd I'd be if that was one of my hits. I realize people on Ebay buy them, but I have no idea why, unless you're the employee on the card. They could have used those spots in the set to put a Jeter base card instead.
I just picked up a Strasburg Mini at the Rosemont show yesterday.
I am actually in town for a International Food Technologist convention for 4 days. I went early so I could go to the show. Its not a vintage show, mostly newer stuff. I got the Stras for a little under what ebay is bringing. I just like the card and the person was willing to let me trade as well.

Since no one else has answered, they are cool cards but are not anything really special at all. The relic is worth $3 to $6 and the 2 minis probably a buck or two each. Really hard to hit anything of huge value in A&G.

For the guy earlier who posted the pics of the 3 cards he pulled- I've seen the Josh Hamilton relic cards on Ebay start wtih 99c and end with no bids. I think the relic cards are actually pretty hard to sell for anything. The Pujols is worth a few bucks.
For the other poster who opened some blasters- The Celestial Stars are actually pretty tough pulls. I'd bet you'd get $10 - $20 for the Texeira celestial stars insert.

I concede, the fun is in opening these packs and enjoying the time doing it, not in trying to break even or come out ahead. Zep you are 100% right on this. Anyway below is what I got out of the 3 blasters. Got a hit in each one but not the right type of WOOD hits I was looking for. Overall pretty loaded with me getting a hit in each one, a BB mini and a short print mini in each one plus 1 celestrial mini. Everything below is for trade.

Anyone know when Topps is going to say which cards were short printed and which were super short printed? Seems like they had already released production #'s by this time last year? I think some of the blue autos must be less than 49 produced this year. And has anyone seen ONE copy of the Sig Hansen blue or red ink auto yet? Its on the checklist and I feel like I've turned over every stone with every dealer I know who opened a lot of cases this year. I don't even know anyone who has seen or heard of one yet. I think Topps f'd up on putting Sigs name in the auto checklist.

1) #AGA SH Sig Hansen doesn't exist, unless they are releasing them later. 2) Adam Lind has a blue ink and red ink auto, but isn't mentioned in the checklist. 3) Cliff Pennington has a blue ink redemption card (and maybe red ink redemption) but isn't mentioned in the checklist 4) Michael Bourn has a blue ink and red ink auto, but isn't mentioned in the checklist. 5) Darren Taylor has a blue ink and red ink auto, but isn't mentioned in the checklist.
With those 5 adjustments, I get a revised checklist of 102 cards in the auto set.

2010 Topps Allen & Ginter complete checklist
There is NO Derek Jeter within the 350 base cards and NO Derek Jeter within the 351-401 rip Minis. So out of 401 cards which is in a way the complete set no Jeter. I collect Jeter base cards. Unless I missed something or missing him in the 350 base - 351-491 rip minis checklist. His name is not on there. I see names I never even heard of on the base checklist. Topps won't be getting any $ out of me on this product. Again I am extremely disappointed.

Unless you want a 750 card base set (which A&G would never do), then its bound to happen that "your guy" will get left out from time to time. If you like getting Jeter's base in psa10 every year, I'd just get his sketch card (AGHS3) from the 2010 set instead, which is also a normal sized card, not a mini. >>

Certainly its silly to think that it would take 750 cards to get to a base Jeter. My point was only that A&G isn't like some of the 80's topps sets where pretty much every player on every roster was represented. 750 is what it would take today to accomplish that feat with 25 man rosters. 350 base set means less than 50% of roster players will have a spot. Now, you'd think that Topps would over-represent that 350 with consistent all stars and fan favorites like Jeter. On the flip side, maybe Topps was thinking that Jeter is already well represented in the set. I found 5 different cards where a Jeter fan can find him in 2010 A&G - Celestial Stars, RIP Card, Sketch card, artist proof sketch card 1/1, Yankees cabinet card which features Jeter hoisting the trophy. Thats not exactly "leaving him out" of the set.

Honestly I rather not have a sketch , artist proof etc etc insert card. I rather have a traditional base card.

I am actually in town for a International Food Technologist convention for 4 days. I went early so I could go to the show. Its not a vintage show, mostly newer stuff. I got the Stras for a little under what ebay is bringing. I just like the card and the person was willing to let me trade as well.

Since no one else has answered, they are cool cards but are not anything really special at all. The relic is worth $3 to $6 and the 2 minis probably a buck or two each. Really hard to hit anything of huge value in A&G.

For the other poster who opened some blasters- The Celestial Stars are actually pretty tough pulls. I'd bet you'd get $10 - $20 for the Texeira celestial stars insert.

I concede, the fun is in opening these packs and enjoying the time doing it, not in trying to break even or come out ahead. Zep you are 100% right on this. Anyway below is what I got out of the 3 blasters. Got a hit in each one but not the right type of WOOD hits I was looking for. Overall pretty loaded with me getting a hit in each one, a BB mini and a short print mini in each one plus 1 celestrial mini. Everything below is for trade.
