29-S buff, last of my Baltimore newPs
Despite some ill placed hits, I still thought this one was pretty with great luster and color. So this will do until I can pry loose from the hands of a fellow board memeber (and you know who you are) the one I really covet. While grade is made up of several components, I feel that sometimes luster alone gets a coin to a designated grade. So what do you say?

That wouldn't happen to be an Angel Dee's coin would it?
Congrats on the pickup!

Where?

Where?
I have to give credit to blue62vette for the image. There is an unsightly hit right above the braid on the obverse and scattered hits on the reverse.

Denver also caught on around this time. The die steel wad better, plus both branch mints finally learned how
to properly harden their dies for use.
There still was a lingering (but not major) quality to the coins, and higher grades are still tough.
I think this is one of the good ones. Knock it up one point for the toning. It is a little shallow in the center by the braid.

Makes me wonder how nice ... the one I really covet is
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

To which coin/board member are you referring?

Hhmm, a certain somebody I know has one with an absolute freakish strike for the date, and that same board memeber has another that is a cherry picked a high grade two feather.

<< <i>While this wasn't a guess the grade per se, it is graded 65.
