drddm, I like your 1818 very much. It's a great photo as well. I think that AU55-58s are ideal grades for CBHs, particularly if they look like MS62-63s.

Thanks GeorgeKellogg, that's what most of my CBH collection consists of, AU55-58 with some MS busties sprinkled in here and there.

And, I happen to agree with you that choice AU is an ideal grade to collect CBH's, then again, I have seen many a beautiful XF busties as well.

Wow. I am remiss... way behind on this thread.

Here are some of the Roger Solomon CBH's auctioned by Sheriday Downey at the recent ANA. I was the underbidder on the 1815, which is why I am still married. LOL.

Seriously, these photos do not do them justice. My breath was taken away by more than a few of these. I lost sleep during the couple of days they were in my possession.

    Nice varieties too, huh?
    Lance.

Great photos Lance, thanks also !
I agree about the 1808/7, the dies are practically falling apart it seems, yet some areas look fabulously struck !

PCGS 53, but the luster and eye appeal of a 55+. The pictures don't tell the whole story.

The luster on that 1823 must be outstanding.

Two of my new favorites. Not sure I captured the luster well enough.

Lance, they would be my favorites too.

I wish I had more coin funds at the time of the solomon sale.

There are a lot of beautiful coins in this thread, I hope I don't get too much heat for digging up an old thread.
