I don't have a CBH, but I do have a "purdy lady" on the left side of this rare Southern obsolete Note from 1837-1840....

Anyone notice something special about this CBH, besides the Patched 3? There is something unexpected about the reverse.

The 'C' seems a bit too far away from the '50'
I also see some doubling on the '50C'

Here's an 1824 with some orangey toning!!!!

Mozin, where are the inside serifs on the A's on the reverse image

All the time, everyone's posting their 1823's....here is an "ugly" one image

Mozin's half is off center by quite a bit. The reverse letters are way too far from the edge at 10 to 12 o'clock, and as Dave indicated, way too close at 4 to 5 o'clock.

The appearance of being off center is only because of what the earlier NGC holder is covering. See my PCGS holder. I received one PM from a Bust Specialist who noticed what is different about this reverse for my Patched 3.

  • No, I don't see what is different about the reverse of the patched 3, but then, I am very green at all of this stuff. I do have a lot of CBH however.
Do you guys do this every Friday, or is this something special? Also, do you accept fillet head as well?

I really don't have the purdy ones that you high rollers do, but I am humble, so I will post this 1811 O-112A for now, and wait to see if I get laughed at.

  • It is pretty obvious so far that most folks prefer the clean look, uncluttered by cracks, breaks, clashes, milling impressions and strike doubling, which are all of the things that I really like about CBH.

I posted that 1811 O-112A with lots of cracks a little earlier, doesn't anyone have some coins with 'character'?

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
  • Thanks for saying so Goldbully, but it wasn't really a ploy for recognition. I was really hoping to see what others can show me. I just love looking at them, whether they are mine or not.
Since I didn't get any laughs yet, here is another:
