I'm glad to see this thread still has some life; definitely some interesting pickups.
IMO that's the best aspect of HOF collecting -- lots of interesting choices for nearly every player.
Most of my recent pickups are upgrades although I'm down to just two cards for my "unrestricted" set and down to thirty nine for my "playing years" set.

With 5 boys , I do not have the budget to buy original cards of these guys and am quite satisfied with modern reprints for the hard to find cards .
My set is currently at the # 4 spot .
