I did it, I did it! Just bumped this baby from a 9 to a 10! Pop 1!

Sent in on a freebie for having a 100% complete 1974 Red Sox set. I believe it's a pop 1 (and a low pop 9)

1957 Topps 99% 7.40 GPA
Hank Aaron Basic PSA 7-8(75%)
<< <i>Sell it now and buy another 9 and pocket the coin. Nice looking card >>
The problem is 9's don't come up that often. If someone were to say I'll give you my 9 and a bunch of cash I would consider it. As of now, I'm thinking of keeping it, but then again, if another one were to pop or something I guess the value would be cut way down.

I'd go to The Registry, see who has a 9 and send them all emails. I'd even email those with 8s if their other cards are 9s and 10s.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>Mike ... the time to sell a 1 of 1 ... is WHEN it's a 1 of 1! LOL

Yeah, I may do that. But there is another way to look at it. I collect Fisk and just got a PSA 10 Fisk for what I paid for the 9 (like $120 if I remember correctly about a year ago) plus the cost of mailing to PSA for a review. So while I could take advantage of the market value-wise, as a collector, I feel like I just got a huge bargain too. I'll think it over for a few days. Heck, if you told me it was a $1000+ card I'd probably have to sell because I could wait on another 9 and use the money to pick up a Ted Williams rookie that I always wanted. Decisions, decisions....

See, big submitters don't get all the breaks.
(I checked the images on VCP out of curiosity--they sold it to the guy who sold it to you.)

Wow, great card, congrats.
It could not have happened to a bigger Pudge fan, or a more pleasant guy to deal with!

Edited to add: Nevermind, it is a pop 1.
in a "10" holder. And a sweet card, too.... looks like Fisk is
awaiting a throw from the outfield with a runner coming in.
Very nice!
Nick,
How much was the hammer price on that Oliva card, if you don't mind me asking?

How did that card not get an 11?
You must crack and resubmit!

<< <i> Very nice bump Mike, but my opinion is that ya gotta sell it. I'm doing the 1972 set graded, and when my Tony Oliva went from an 8.5 to a 10 I knew it had to go because it's only weighted a 1.5, and doesn't impact the overall GPA enough to keep it.

It's still in my possession Tim. I didnt say it had to go right away.
