Hey,


Has anyone seen either of these 2009 Allen & Ginter cards of Loren Opstedahl, the champion sheep shearer?


Cyan Printing Plate #1/1.

Silk (Cloth) card #/10.


Those are the last two cards that I need of him, then I will have everything.

I would be willing to pay extremely well for both cards.

I just skimmed though all 76 pages on this topic ... wow !

Although my interest is tepid on this year's A&G, there are some interesting cards and gimmicks. (but not enough to afford buying any)

I have a few question ...

Are there more subsets each year since 2006 ?

How come there have been no Hank Aaron cards ? (is he exclusive to Upper Deck or some other Co. ? I see lots of Mantles each year.

How did Champs hockey do comparatively ?


Lastly, I would be interested in any of the historical cards in these sets. (I teach history classes)

Waht happened to Rube ?

boy-this thread is fallin down to page 3. guess this ones startin to fall off of ppl's radar, eh? still love rippin them but ive found its lacked many decent type "hits" as in previous years. if autos are only going to go for a few bucks, then seed more into the packs! ive cracked dozens of blasters and a few hobby boxes and only netted 2 autos worth a grand total of $8!

I'm a big David Price collector, as you probably know if you have seen me on other sites, and I am looking to complete my A&G player set. I have most of the variations except for the super rare ones.

How do you store your Ginter Mini's? I like to display sets I build in albums but what sheets would work best for storing these. The 9 slot ones leave too much room for movement and the 15 slot tobacco sheets slots are too short by the advertised size of the slots. I am new to Allen and Ginter collecting and am looking for some ideas.

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to collecting the 2009 Allen and Ginters. I know I'm coming in late to the game, but I've gotten a few hits. Nothing too great but I have a Josh Johnson autograph, Fielder bat card, Mantle mini, and a Joe Saunders Bazooka back 17/25 I think is the number.
I've been looking up the Bazooka backs and can't quite figure out how people value them. I have the new Beckett and they won't price them due to scarcity but I have seen some go for $3.99 and others for $99.99. Why such a discrepancy? I have yet to come across anyone talking about a Joe Saunders Bazooka back so I have no idea what it's worth. Any guesses?
Also, I've been mainly buying blasters for the cards but I think I'll order a hobby box or two tonight. Is it true that hobby boxes have way more hits than blasters?

I talked to someone at Topps the other day about the Cabrera autos and they pretty much told me the same info. They are definitely being sent out though, which is a good thing.

The Cat Osterman autos are not being sent out because she isn't signing the cards due to the fact that she now has an exclusive contract with Panini. Topps is sending other cards as replacements. I heard that one collector received a Mia Hamm auto instead, which isn't too bad, but another collector received an auto that wasn't any good (forget who the auto was exactly).

I have seen ebay auctions not only for the redemption auto BUT ALSO A REDEMPTION FOR THE RELIC (unsigned/just the relic). My concern is how could topps not have the piece of unifrom (or whatever) to make the relic card already in hand.???????

I'll still buy the CAT redemptions for $10 () knowing full well I'll receive any auto but HERS when the friendly folks at topps cave in to the realization they don't/won't have any "CAT" Osterman auto's.

I guess some of the Phelps redemptions are coming back now. Didn't see anything for a long time, but I've seen several on Ebay this week. My first attempt at buying a Phelps auto this evening was a big disappointment...bidding was at $305 with 15 seconds left, then finished over $625. Wonder if these prices will continue.

had held onto these and waited for topps to come out with the card and turned down good money for the redemption I would be mad.

I will never buy redemptions from Topps again after I read their policy about redemptions. Basically, they don't guarantee you the card as promised, but instead they reserve the right to send you whatever they have extra of. I think there is a separate link describing the garbage they were sending out for all the Alex Rios A&G redemptions.

You are right the Rios was a nightmare, luckly the Phelps was such a high profiled card that topps really couldn't do that. How about the 08 Ibanez heritage cards
that topps sent out replacments for saying he didin't sign, yet they put him in 2010 heritage as a live card?
