I'm sure buyer and seller made a deal and seller just ended it early as not to avoid selling outside of eBay but to save some cash on fees at least. No way he sold it for that price, I'd put money on it.

My guess was he was ending the auction early and clicked the wrong box. He meant to say "Cancel all bids and end the item" and he clicked "End item early and sell to high bidder."
