<< <i>Congrats to the Lakers on their 15th title -- they are nipping the heels of the Celtics now!
Congrats to Phil Jackson on his 10th Title -- The best NBA Coach of all time, no question.
Time to take the Celts banner down from my sig-line. >>
Phil Jackson should be considered one of the top NBA coach's ever, but how do you really compare him to Red? I don't think we should.
Leave that Celts banner up too....They will be back.

Nah, I was taking it down as soon as a 2009 champ was crowned. Regarding Phil -- I put him slightly ahead of Red because he won the 10 titles with different mixes of players, on two different teams, and with double the teams in the league than in Red's era.
They beat all challengers in the playoffs this year. They made the plays when they had to to win close games and they also dominated some games.
Dwight Howard is a beast, with physical abilities that are amazing. He is still very young and has lots of room to improve. His defense, rebounding and shot blocking are great. His offense is limited. If he develops offensive skills to round out his game, he will be one of the greats.
He reminds me a little bit of Hakeem, The Dream, Olajawon (SP?) of the Houston Rockets (and University of Houston). When he first came to the US as a teenager who had only played soccer, his game was horrible. I remember watching an NCAA playoff game during his first year at University Of Houston. The guy was horrible, unable to catch, shoot, pass, etc. But he could jump and run like a gazelle. The next year I watched hiom on TV and it was like watching a completely different player. He developed offensive skills and was dominant.
Patrick Ewing is helping Dwight Howard develope. Hopefully he is up to the task and can teach Howard how to be an effective post player on offense. All he needs to do is develop a couple of post moves. If he does, no one would be able to stop him and he could then be an offensive threat through which the offense can be run and thrive.
