We put up one he|| of a fight, especially considering our top 2 players were out due to injuries. I'm proud my team did so well but unfortunately, it wasn't enough.
Oh well.. Injuries are a part of the game but to lose 55% of your payroll is tough to overcome.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
<< <i>No way in heIl Joey Crawford was going to let a western final happen between Houston and Denver. >>
After they announced Joey's name as a ref, I knew our season was already over.

Lakers were very fortunate to win game 1. Mello is probably the most underated player in the NBA. He should be mentioned in the top 5 or 6 players in the league. If George Karl wouldn't have had a brainfart and taken the ball out in the backcourt where they could have gotten it inbounds the game could have turned out differently. Seriously with 24 seconds on the shot clock what advantage is there to taking the ball out in the frontcourt? If you take it in the backcourt it is automatic that you will at least get the ball inbounds. Bad coaching decision.....looking forward to MELLO vs KOBE round 2

Melo isn't one of the best 5-6 in the league until he shows he can keep it at this level an entire series. Personally, I don't think he can. He'll be back around 16-20 points for game #2 and his intensity won't be as fierce.
I thought it was a good move having Bryant lock up Billups early. Too bad no one could contain Anthony during that same stretch. Martin was also hitting his shots. If Martin can continue that efficiency it will be a difficult series for LA. When Bryant switched to Anthony, all Anthony had to do was take Bryant to the block, where he has the advanage, or use a screen as the Lakers help D was horrible. I don't see the same matchup disparity between James and Bryant as I do between Kobe and Anthony.
For the Lakers, they need Gasol and Bynum to play a larger role on both ends of the floor.
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards
Now each team has a tough loss. Looks to be a long series if the Lakers can grab a game in Denver. I'd like it to be game 3.
The Lakers let that one get away. Too much bickering with the Refs. They should just play ball. Again, Mensa Phil let Bynum disappear. I would like to see more of Farmar or Brown and a bit less of Fisher. Odom needs to score more.

I don't know if the Lakers gave that game away..They got beat...Phil Jackson needs to start playing a lineup that can win instead of trying for a lineup that matches well with the Nuggets. Even though the Lakers lost it was nice to see them actually get beat instead of not showing up.
<< <i>Not too shabby of a game by Kobe last night. He looked like he was limping at the end of the game. Was he just exhausted, or did he get injured? >>
I hope he isn't.......I was out and about so I listened to the game on the radio and didn't see if he was limping. I'm sure if he still is at practice it will be all over the net right away.
That was a strong finish by the Lakers. Ariza is having his moments. Kobe can be lights out at the end. It'd be nice for them to get the next one as well.
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards
Denver owned that game from the start. Great energy by their team.
The Lakers offense was non existent. I'm not sure they even know what the zen master wants them to do. They do not establish a consistent post game and were in horrible rebounding position most of the night. On the defensive end, this Lakers team gives up way to many easy baskets.
Well, back to LA where they need to show up.

Just in case you guys don't know it, tonights game is a must win. Be sure the big guys get more touches too because that's one of your strong area's. And to the guys off the bench, you guys need to come in and bang with some authority!!!

Nothing like haters and jackazzes coming into a teams official thread and talking trash....Classless! Haven't other teams been down 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 and won series before? Lakers and Nuggets are 2 to 2 and the Lakers have home field advantage...I still like their chances.
Great win last night for the Lakers. It was nice to see them start the game with some good effort and finish the game even stronger with a big lead. I don't know if they will be playing against the Cavs or the Magic, but it will be a great series.
Lakers make a statement in their big win last night in game 1. That's the Laker team I've been waiting for during the playoffs. Their depth really showed last night with everyone knowing their roles. The Lakers need to win game 2 as well to keep the home field advantage.
I didn't get a chance to watch the game until the final play of regulation so I can't make comments on who played better. The Magic certainly had a shot on the last play to win it, but they couldn't quite do it. The Lakers took control in overtime and pulled it out. I think winning game 2 last night was a big win, especially since the Magic players know they almost had the W.
Lets see what happens in game 3.
Anyone else hate the way the NBA schedules the championship games??? Does the NBA really need to have 2 days off in between games when the teams aren't traveling?
Looking forward to the game tonight. Should be telling to see how the series will turn. The Lakers had an off game and a friendly environment and some decent shooting could extend the series

The Magic are probably the most underrated team in the NBA this year.
Everyone was hyped over lebron-kobe, and look at the magic, could have been up 2-1 right now with courtney lee's layup. Very possible this series goes 6 or 7.
I knew the Magic would have to come up with a big game last night and they did. Great game. The Magic shot 75% from the field in the first half and finished the game with over 60% from the field and over 75% from the line and the Lakers shot just over 50% from the field and struggled at the line with 61% at the free throw line. Yet the Lakers still kept it as a single possession game in the final minute. I think that's speaks highly of both teams...The Magic put the first two games behind them seemed to have almost every ball fall in and the Lakers struggled and and lost it in the final minute. Also, I personally feel Kobe struggled at the line and looked tired in the second half which I think is the result of the Magic playing him so tough...No excuse, actually complementing the Magic's execution.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda....LOL
I don't think the Magic is the most underrated team in the NBA....Just look at their record and their seed in the playoffs....They were clearly the only team in the NBA East that would give the Cav's a fight...No surprise to me.. Of course I agree that the media and ESPN / NBA always has their agenda and favorites.
The Magic handed that game to the Lakers. What the hell were they doing in the last 11 seconds? Why are they defending a 2 point basket which was meaningless?? ALL of the players should have been on the 3 point line!!

That's what makes a championship team. Championship teams stay in the game, fight back, and know how to win during crunch time.

You and Kobe keep talking "championship", yet there is still one more game to be won.
<< <i> You and Kobe keep talking "championship", yet there is still one more game to be won. >>
Thanks for using Kobe and myself in the same sentence!
As far as Kobe....He's been in other championships series before and knows what it takes to win as well as knowing what its like to come home empty. I haven't personally seen or heard Kobe say he's won the championship yet and I'm sure he's telling all of his teammates that they haven't won anything yet until the series is done. I'm sure Fish and Coach Jackson is the same way.
As far as me....I personally feel the Lakers have the series won, but the Lakers still might need all 7 games to do it. Most likely it won't go past 6 games.
Yes the Magic could have easily won game 2 and game 4, but they didn't. The final score is the only thing that matters.
I think the NBA should be very happy right now having 4 championship caliber teams right now. With a break or two it could have been the Cavs winning it all this year. If the Celtics stayed healthy it could have been them winning it all. If the Magic could have won games 2 and 4 and pull off a big time upset it could have been them.
Congrats to the Lakers on another NBA Title and congrats to Orlando on having an awesome season. And congrats to the Orlando fans, your team never gave up and should only be better next year if they are able to get a couple of key re-signs.

40 for Kobe, 39 for Mello.
Hopefully the series will go seven games so we can watch these two play, with the winner probably having an encore performance with LeBron James.
