Think maybe Gecko's comment which included the letter "v" might have caused the lock.

It got way off topic. So how much you all think he could get for that bracelet. I say today he could have gotten 275.00-300 from a volume dealer depending on the time of day. My guy pays about those prices according to his mood.

Agree and agree. It did get way off topic, and any FAIR dealer would be happy to pay around $275 on a piece that melts down at around $360.

That sounds about right.
We used to pay a higher percentage of melt than we do now, before the city passed a 30-day hold requirement on all second-hand merchandise purchases. Even after the 30 days have expired, we have to wait until we have accumulated enough stuff that is out of the hold box to justify an assay charge.
We lucked out and did a large gold burn just before the recent splunge in gold spot price. Had we not done so, we might have broken even after tying up many thousands of dollars on scrap that has to sit in the vault and age like a fine cheddar.

P.S. I still have the bracelet. Wife said dont be in such a hurry to sell it . Of course then gold drops $25.00. Seems like Im either ahead of the curve or behind the curve. Oh well such is life. But it will all be OK next Wednesday.
I went back and saw the v word just now. Maybe that is why it got locked. But I do kind of agree. I never begrudge anyone from making a profit but be fair with me and I will come back to you.

Depends how big the dealer is. If it's a smaller B&M guy--someone who only ships stuff out to a refiner once every month or two, the costs and time involved might not make 30% margin worth it.
Or you could just sell it on eBay. IMO that would be way easier and would get you the best price.
unless your gonna share your hoard of gold from your underground bunker!
