what a great game and great series. I don't like tonight's result, but who can argue with the entertainment value there?
  • VitoCo1972VitoCo1972 Posts: 6,130 ✭✭✭
Rose will get a ton of credit for that block...and well deserved. But as a Celtics fan I have to say that Pierce choked. He passed up a wide open 3 with a minute to go and committed a horrible foul to be out of the game. Rondo should never have been taking that shot. Pierce should have still been in the game.

    That said...

What a series. Can't take my eyes off it for a second. Can't wait for Game 7.

    Go C's!!

Another incredible game with so many what ifs.

Looking forward to a Celtic victory in game seven. Maybe, Pierce will guarantee the victory like Larry Bird used to.

Ugh!!! Celts up 5 points with 2 mins left in regulation and then MISSED LAYUP!! image

Pierce and Allen need to synch up -- when one does well the other struggles, then they go to OT against Da Bulls. If they both do well (i.e. game 3), then they win by a comfortable margin.

If they make it to the next round, both need to do well for at least 4 games to beat Orlando.

Will either team have anything left for the next round?

Boston had plenty left last year after a rough first round...but this first round match-up is unprecedented so who knows?

The C's were also 8 deep last year. Being 5 deep this year is WAAAAY different. and I'm a huge Celts fan, but no way will they have fresh legs for te next series if they were to win.
  • aro13aro13 Posts: 1,961 ✭✭✭
It is no different than 1987 when the Celtics post-season bench consisted of Jerry Sichting, Darren Daye and Fred Roberts and they beat a team with huge depth in Detroit.

If they can beat Chicago tomorrow night, I think they can take Orlando.

I'm not sure if it was the gameplan, his ankle, or if he was psyched out after his flagrant foul at the beginning of Game 6, but Rondo looked completely different than he did in the first 5 games. Didn't seem quite as confident on the offensive end....he needs to get back to playing his style of ball vs. Orlando.
  • baseballfanbaseballfan Posts: 5,463 ✭✭✭
nice come back but did they spend too much energy to fall short??? we'll see.

OK, that was the last night that Ray Allen can take "off", otherwise, the Celts are toast.

Bill Simmons (as much as I hate him) said it best...is it really possible for a team that trailed by 28 points to blow a game? Yes, yes it is.

This series is going at least 6, if not 7. I have no idea who's going to win. If Perkins can continue to keep Howard more than 8 feet from the basket, it'll be the C's, but if Van Gundy was smart enough to make a couple substitution matchup changes, I would say Orlando. Either team is going down in four straight to the Cleveland LeBrons anyway, unfortunately

I didn't know Davis could hit the outside shot like that. I looked at my girlfriend after we left 11 seconds on the clock and told her the Celts would win it on a last second shot.......I just didn't expect Davis to be the one making it.

Tonight was a must win for the Magic. I'm gonna try and go to game 6 but reallly hope I don't see the Celtics close it out on our court.

Yes, they were very fortunate to win that one after failing to put Orlando away with a subpar performance by Allen and getting only 2 points from the bench.

    Eddie House zero points, WTH?

I said to my fiance before the inbounds pass...the odds of Pierce dribbling around for 10 seconds and taking a jumper being contested by 3 guys and falling away at the elbow were 99.9999999999999%.

    Nice to see

Ok, that win can be credited to Stephon Marbury. He really kept them in it. 21-21 from the line is pretty amazing.

Agreed, Boston stepped up, but Orlando handed that win to them. Pretty poor form by Dwight Howard to critcize Van Gundy at the press conference -- nice leadership from your best player. I see O-Town losing by 20 at home in Game 6.

Sorry your Celtics didn't get the game 7 win, but your team hung tough against a tough opponent. I was hoping for another Lakers Celtics series if the Lakers get by Denver.

Sorry to be a downer, but as a Celtics fan...they beat themselves with bad shots in that series. Ray Allen was horrid (including in game 7 despite) and Pierce didn't figure out that he needed to go to the basket until way too late. Rondo and Perkins were brilliant in the playoffs. At least we can look forward to them for another few years. I think we need to sign and trade Davis while his value is high (he's unrestricted this offseason). He is good for stretches but will never be a great NBA Starter. Looking forward to next year.

A good run. Front office didn't work any magic this year, and Garnett's loss was big. Heckuva run for an undermanned team.

Garnett is going in for surgery next week. Given they waited this long, I wonder if they were going to use him against Cleveland? image
