I couldn't help myself. Now what am I gonna do with this thing?

I just couldn't resist this 10 ozer, even though it was over $20/oz. Now I just realized that I don't have any type of storage box that it will fit into!!! I really kinda like it, tho. Guess I'm lucky that I didn't go for the 1 kilo size!

It just illustrates the lack of imagination the US Mint has...or the guts. All they can do is redo classics...sans the plats.

    Nice 10 ozer!

    Get it slabbed! image

My Adolph A. Weinman signature :)

  • Get it slabbed and buy a larger box. Interesting coin.

that is sure an odd bullion round. I have to admit though, of looking

fc, I actually thought of you while I was buying it!image

Added: The 10 oz. Kookaburra measures just a hair less than 3" across and about 5/16" thick. The 1 kilo coin was probably about 5" in diameter and about 3/4" thick. Don't think that I wasn't tempted.

  • Beautiful coin ~ I've always enjoy the Kookaburras and understand your temptation - nice buy!

Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.

  • Gorgeous coins! It might give me something to do once my panda set is complete in 10-15 years.image

Edit: Why is that bengal dated 2010?
  • I love big silver!!!!!

It's dated 2010 because for some strange reason the Perth mint decided to mint the last 3 coins in the series I (lunar) and start over with a series II this year. So we had 2 lunar rats(mice), 1 ox and 1 tiger.
