That guy is a BOLD FACE LIAR!!!!!! He sent back clear empty slabs!!! I can't believe he has the GALL to come on this forum!!! He is a con artist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS - I just bought some cards on the BBCE Topps rip!!!! One of the members is going to teach me how to use photo bucket! I still kept the empty package, because I had to file MAIL FRAUD charges against him. I dont know what good it is for everone to see empty slab halves w/o the flips, but I still got them....I will be glad to take a pic and put it up once I learn how to use photo bucket!!! Trust me....if that CON ARTIST had sent back the Lenny Wilkins card in question, IT WOULD BE UP ON EBAY RIGHT NOW!!!!!! I don't have the card because he kept it!!!!! My ebay name is tarheeltreasurehunt. You will never see me sell that card again, because I dont have it!!!!!!!!!
see heres the crap im talking about this pandrews guy was not even invoilved and he has enough nuts to ocme on here and say i only read 3 lines of his response and your and idiot see thats the crap im talking about must be that bobby guys boyfriend or something i came on here to tell my side after being told by 3 diffrent guys im getting slammed here on this site now this guy named pandrews running his mouth about nothing read it learn the facts then reply if this is the way im gonna get treated by some of you on here so be it but i came here to defend my self and people jump on me after only reading 3 lines of my post aint that a joke??
You are a CON ARTIST and you should be ASHAMED of yourself for even coming on here and trying to talk smack!!! You attempt to scam me, and no telling how many other sellers.....I am just trying to warn people of the tricks various people pull on Ebay to try to swindle others....you are one of the "various people", so SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by the way yea whats a pic of empty holders gonna prove i have a few hundred of them from when i have broken cards out a resummited them.and yea if its the cards you wanted him to show a pic of yea show us all a pic of the 2 cards out of the holderso which one is it do you have 1 card 2 cards or no cards?????i vote for 1 as i sent one back not 2 and it was still in the holder unopened
Seeing scans of two empty slabs with no flips will not prove that the OP is telling the truth since they could be two empty slabs from any two cheap cards he had laying around that he cracked just to show DrJ.
Mowerman, you don't have to be an English major (im sure not), but you have to type a little clearer if you want to be taken seriously here. You desperately need periods and paragraph breaks.
The bottom line is that we will never know the truth, and while I would not be as fast as storm to side with the OP in this case, a judge probably would.
Can everyone here just smarten up? The buyer, dwidle, mowerman, or whoever you are today is a scammer. Bobby opened his package in front of a USPS employee who backs Bobby's story. Why else would Bobby have been given the forms for a mail fraud investigation. Then the buyer comes here and goes after pandrews because he let him know that his typing skills and common sense are both below that of a third grader.
Bobby did everything correct here, and has his $$ from Paypal as proof. If he had screwed up even one step in this drama the $$ would be gone, we all know how Paypal will make you jump through hoops to prove you've done all you can as a seller.
Storm888 is one of the most business savy people that I have ever dealt with, he knows the ebay and Paypal systems inside and out, as well as having a good grasp on reality and how far scammers will push the enevelope to get their way. Storm888 believes Bobby, I saw this coming in post 2 of this thread when I advised Bobby to use his USPS employee as a witness. Time for dwidle/mowerman to climb back into your spider hole and hide from the postal investigators. If I were Bobby this would be pushed as far as possible to teach you a lesson.
Good luck Bobby, at least all all that you are out is the negative feedback from an obvious scammer. Shouldn't hurt you in the future, and it is much better that what could've happened with this loon.
Bobby did not accept a return on an item his buyer was unhappy with. Bobby then DEMANDED that both cards be sent back instead of the one his buyer was unhappy with. If you bought 5 DVDs from Best Buy and one of them was scratched, would they make you return all 5, or just the one that was scratched? Making the buyer return both cards (even though he was happy with one of them) completely defies logic, and no merchant or retail establishment has ever made this their policy in the history of the world. If Bobby wouldn't have been such a jay-hole and let the guy return the card he didn't like, this whole situation would've been avoided.
My guess is this set off the "I'm going to send back empty slabs" idea in the other screwball's mind and here we are arguing about it over a message board. If the guy's original intent was to scam Bobby, then he would've asked for a refund for both cards and sent back the empty slabs from the get-go.
Just because the other guy's a scammer doesn't mean that "Bobby did everything correct here".

I would have no problem returning the 5 CDs or two cards. I would be happy to wash my hands of the situation and find a different seller. I may have asked for both items to be returned also. Especially if they were shipped together with a buyer using Paypal. There are many issues for sellers taking partial returns with Paypal and when they are shipped together there is even a bigger gray area. Paypal and Ebay are so seller unfriendly right now it is imperative that you follow their policies to the letter when doing business to avoid problems. Given that this buyer has a track record of being a little strange at best, it is best to just undo everything and brighten up that gray area.
I've worked in retail and over the years have witnessed some "problem" buyers from time to time, using the return process to their advantage. Like returning a couple ounces of milk, saying it is bad, and getting a new gallon free of charge. If it happens once or twice no big deal, but when there is established track record of abuse than banning has occured, and when they don't get the message a no tresspass order has been issued. Sometimes when faced with a situation like this it is best just to cut all ties.
IMHO Perry is right. The buyer may have finally found a seller who was prepared for his scam and protected himself. But maybe the buyer and seller should work on their business practices a little.
After reading feedback I would hesitate to do any business with either.
STORM, where in the heck is the site preferences? I may need a picture to find it.
Edit: OK, all I get when I do what the eBay help page says, is the notification preferences. It does not give me the option to block certain bidders using basic criteria.

What you are looking for is actually on the "sell your item form", there you can manage your bad buyers. You can change exsitsing items, but they must be done one by one as far as I know. On all items going foward once you change your preferences they will be the same. Just make sure when you relist an older item that you make the changes there also.
wanted to weigh in: I sent Oscar Robertson rookie card in to PSA about month ago along with several others. It came back "Evidence of Trimming" and I ate the 15 bucks. It was a tiny bit shorter than the rest and I REALLY doubt it was trimmed because of knowing the guy I bought it from, but nonetheless, PSA found it and sent it back to me.
Sellling on EBAY definitely opens you up to whiny li'l bee-otches. One of the reasons that I'm "retiring" from doing so. Too hard.
Phillip - I have had a card PSA say was miscut come back graded by SGC. I had a card SGC say was trimmed come back graded by PSA. I have had cards come back from PSA 'MIN SIZE REQD' come back graded when they were resubmitted. Whether you are seeing a doctor, dentist, auto mechanic, or getting your cards graded, if you don't agree with something the expert is saying, GET A SECOND OPINION! You might be suprised what another set of eyes sees.....

That my friends is the whole picture in a nut shell.
Due to the way Paypal is on these things I would have wanted both cards back too. Since they were paid for in one payment yes the buyer can say he wants a refund of X.XX, that does not mean paypal is going to do that and not give the buyer everything back. Paypal has been known to give full refunds on cases like this in the past.
Buyers asking for partial refund is one of the biggest scams on Ebay right now so if a buyer asks for a refund its all or nothing for me.
So based on that thought had the seller said to just send the one happy it would have been ok for him to send the empty slab back like he said? Why did the buyer file the SNAD for the ENTIRE amount and not for the card he was not happy. This buyer was running a scam from the start and just got caught by a prepared seller.

Well, before we retire the thread, i havent had a shot yet.
Seems to me, without proof from either side, neither is right or wrong on the actual card problem. The problem with the refund can go on Paypal, since Paypal is butt reaming a lot of sellers lately, so if there was a chance that Paypal would refund the whole amount, I would have asked for both back too, especially if they were paid on the same payment.
The neg by the buyer was totally unfounded, even if HIS story is true. If you want to neg someone for selling you a PSA card that you think is trimmed or shorter, you should call Joe Orlando at PSA, since HE is the one that is responsible for the card, not the seller. Negging a seller here is stupid unless he personally graded it himself.

I do not think they can get away with that anymore.
Just because it was done in the past does not mean it happens now.
I have received partial refunds and have given a partial refund.
All with paypals blessing.
I have also given a refund minus the shipping.
Steve
Are we sure that he did that? So many things have been said here I have lost track.
One thing is for certain though the buyer has feedback that would make me think twice in doing business with him.
His writing skills also leave little to be desired.
Another certain thing here is that we always get 2 very different sides to a story.
