Terrible feedback, self slabbed, and probably stock pictures (and not correct for the coin), run, don't walk away.

No it's not correct. Seller is using a wrong stock photo for the reverse. Slab does indicate 2008-W ... w/o the W ... it's the regular business strike......but what else would you expect from this seller. Stay away ..... far away....

Stock pic, or a newly discovered variety, doubt it.

To the best of my knowledge, no reverse errors have have turned up, regarding the 08 business strikes.

There is no W on the business strike, just hyping the coin.

Consider the coin raw, as with any self grading seller.

All these 70s, is all you need to know.

While it is true all ASE's are processed at the Westpoint mint. This idiot knows what he is doing
by using an 07 reverse pic....Some less informed ebayer will fall for it though..

You can report it all day long and eBay won't do anything because of it being a "live" auction. They have different rules which don't apply like regular eBay listed auctions. This type of auctoin is being eliminated by eBay, I believe very soon. This type of low, poor feedback seller is one of the main reasons for the elimination. eBay gets many complaints from these live auctions and is ditching them.

The real "culprit" in this scenario is not necessarily the seller as much as it is SGS. Since 2006, they been slabing two "different" Silver Eagles for each year of W Mintmark production.

One that states "With Mintmark" and the other that states "Without Mintmark". They ALWAYS fallback to the statement in the Redbook which (truthfully) states that since the year 2000, All Silver Eagles are produced at the West Point Mint.





However, despite this "truth" this particular bastage is still preying upon the less informed who may think they are getting a deal by stating"

I usually refrain from calling coin dealers scum but in this case, scum fits pretty good.

As a side note, SGS does have a "real" 2008 Rev of 07 slab.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal the other day (I think it was the WSJ) that noted how Britian holds EBAY responsible for misrepresented items and for fakes. I wish our gov would hold ebay responsible as well.

I believe he spelled the word correctly as the post has not been edited.

Uninformed meaning those who do not know any better and bid thinking these are actually "error's" (missing mintmark) or truely the "Key" to the Silver Eagle set when in reality they are simply a common bullion silver eagle.
