Every time I try to get out of this thread, they pull me back in. LOL
Yea, profitable for Pokerstars, FullTilt, etc., and their affiliate commission members, of which you are not one you said. The sad part is that the affiliate commission members who play poker at their affiliate websites, windup gambling back their commission money anyway to the gambling websites either through the accumulative effect of raked poker, or sports betting, or blackjack, etc. The only sharks, the real sharks, are the gambling website owners who eventually windup with all of the money.
But if/when online poker becomes legalized in the US, and it might happen if Barney Frank gets his way, and some American companies begin offering rake free online poker which I predict they will, then I would agree that for some, online poker will be profitable.
I realize no one here, especially in this thread is going to quit playing poker anytime soon, but my advice would be if you finally hit on a big tournament, a large amount of money, then take the money and run, and run fast because the odds will catchup to you and you'll windup losing back the winnings and more - I know of no exceptions - none!
Well...the "usual suspects" might make further derogatory comments towards me and my views on gambling, and that's okay...I've got very thick skin...but if one CU member or even one lurker here can learn from what I've stated, and not get sucked into the addiction of online poker and gambling, then to me it was worth it. Call that anything you want, but to me it helps my recovery from gambling addiction, and hopefully can help others.

The problem with gambling addiction is...once someone realizes how foolish they've often been to get sucked into it, they basically want to forget about it...often they're embarrassed by it, by the money they lost or the debt they are in...and they want to move on and not discuss it much if at all. I understand that and sometimes in certain situations like this, the pro-gambling crowd outnumbers me...but I accept that and I enjoy the challenge...to me it's worth it.
You probably think I root against you in the poker tournaments you display here...I know you don't care...but the fact is that I would like to see every gambler I know win. I don't like seeing any gambler lose especially with for example sports betting or blackjack when the gambler is in direct competition with the gambling house. Sadly though the long-run outcome is always the same...just a question of when the gambler goes broke.

Without drinking and gambling my life would be fairly boring. One could say I'm probably addicted to both activities, but that doesn't change the fact that I have been a profitable poker player for a while now.
If I could only figure out a way to be a profitable drinker I'd be all set.
Agree with CD, I'd try twice before settling for an 8. If you get the 8.5, I'd stay with that, though. If PSA extends the $5 special, it's worth a shot.

Yes, for the first sub that wouldn't be an issue, but if he decides to re-submit, he won't have the card back in time in all likelihood. PSA has already extended the $5 special from April to June, though,so maybe they'll extend it again.

No change that gets a nine. Just did a sub w/ over 150 mini's - the tilt will keep in an 8.5 at best, 8 most likely. Still the card is a good one no matter what the sticker reads.

Yes, for the first sub that wouldn't be an issue, but if he decides to re-submit, he won't have the card back in time in all likelihood. PSA has already extended the $5 special from April to June, though,so maybe they'll extend it again.

Sorry...I was a little slow on the pickup there. However, I will say that I have sent in 7 separate submissions on the $5 special since 4/25 and all but 1 of them are already back. The 7th one was just logged in on Thursday. They definitely seem to be getting through these quickly!

That is definitely true...the last several $5 specials I sent in popped in several days (though my most recent one has been there about a month now).

Yes you have every right to speak your mind yet at the same time some
people just don't want to hear it (anymore) I specifically stayed away from this thread
because I too did not want to pile on you. I would rather do that when the Sillies
freefall from 1st place to 4th in the month of June.
In any event, maybe a lil less harping on the dangers of gambling?
Steve
Okay...the Mets suck.
