We know ripping packs is a gamble and usually a losing proposition. Some of us choose to do it anway because we can afford to and it makes life a little more fun. Your two contributions to this forum are: Gambing is bad, and the Phillies are great. We know how you feel. We get it. You might want to try removing the broken record and play something new. >>
Lee - You are hilarious. You start a "watch me on Pokerstars" gambling thread on a regular basis, and then you knock me for one small comment here on the foolishness of gambling. And I've never interrupted your Pokerstars threads while the tournament is in progress...if I make comments, it'll be after the tournament is over, if I feel like it.
I've got nothing against you or any gambler or poker player. In fact despite your negative comments about me, I believe you're an interesting poster here and I enjoy your sense of humor. I know you don't like me and that's okay and I couldn't care less. Because the real reason for your dislike, no matter what you say, is that I've called out gambling affiliate hucksters for what they are. Their "agenda" is to make "friends" on various forums, show and tell them through various schemes and deception how "fun and profitable" it is to play online poker, and then entice them into signing up on their affiliate commission programs so the hucksters can earn money off their forum "friends" - If you're not an affiliate commission huckster and you've never offered anyone here to signup on your Pokerstars commission affiliate link, then my comments don't apply to you. But for those who make "friends" in internet forums for a purpose of getting them to signup on their affiliate links...these hucksters aren't looking for friends, they're looking for customers and they view their customers as prey. That's telling it like it is.
Can't wait to hear your spin on this one Lee, or your spin on why you don't want to comment on it. I don't post on 2+2...never have, never will...that's their domain and I respect that. You wanna keep bringing OT gambling threads to a sports and memorabilia forum, then grow a pair and be prepared to be called out at times.
Nam, so what you are saying in essence is that you pity the fool.
Steve- no one here mentioned gambling or profitability or online poker besides you. No one wants to listen to your spiel. No one cares. A lot of this hobby is centered around the concept of gambling, so by taking part in the hobby you are contradicting your outlook on life. And if you don't take part in this hobby then there's no reason for you to be here other than to further your agenda, which again, no one here cares about. You might as well be in the lobby of the Bellagio telling people they shouldn't gamble.

Lee - your comments here are just as absurd as anyone stating that they can make money in the long-run at online poker. I already stated that I couldn't care less what you think about me, because I know how much I enjoy this hobby and what it means to me.
I do the poker contest threads because people seem to have fun with it. I give away free cards and it's a good way to kill an evening for me and anyone else who happens to be on the boards at midnight. I haven't had one person ask me to stop them, and if one or two people did request it (other than you) I would stop. The difference between what I do and what you do is I try and contribute to the forum and keep it light and fun, and you try and stop people from doing things they were already gonna do anyway. And after they do them, you make some snide comment about how foolish they were (in a roundabout way).
And your affiliate comments don't apply to me. I signed onto most poker sites way before rakeback was offered, so I do not receive rakeback or try to hock it to anybody else. Partypoker was the only site I received rakeback on and I can't play there anymore being a US player. I really don't even know how the affiliate programs work to tell you the truth. Many posters here have asked me about online poker (which sites to play, how to deposit, etc..) and I've never solicited one of them for anything.
I can give you a list of at least 10 people on these boards that have pm'd me poker related questions. You can ask any one of them if I ever asked them to join any type of program.
This from the guy that told me FU the other night in a thread where he talked bad about America, then went back an edited that and about 5 other inflammatory posts he made. You're right, that's not the sign of a coward.
<< <i>Any luck recently signing up any underage gamblers to your affiliate commission program? >>
Why do you keep mentioning that to me in your responses? I have played on Pokerstars in the past, but havent had an active account there in almost a year.

I knew the negative "Nam spin" like this was coming.
It was really only one guy in the thread who was against it. If you participated more in the Sports Talk forum (I hardly remember one or two posts from you there), you would understand that a lot of those comments derived from smack talk between the members which has been going on for years. The contest is real, and the intended smack talk in the contest was understood by the regulars there.

Whew...You really need Axtell here to chat with you. That comment was clearly total sarcasm, and intended to get Americans alert and realize that the deficit spending, buying way too many goods from China with a huge trade deficit, and with the dollar plunging...something needs to be done about these problems. You truly are just plain ignorant if you believe any comment I made in that thread was talking bad about America.
There were at least 5 or 6 other anti American comments like that in the thread. You remember the thread dont you? Its the one where you went on a cowardly editing rampage before it went poof.

<< <i>My only question is.... what is the prize for steve's 10000th post contest. By the time this thread dies, he will be at 10k. >>
Don't hold your breath because whether it's information about the hobby or free cards, stevek isn't giving anything to anyone. >>
Allright - one more post for my "buddy" Nam. You're wrong again Nam - check out the link. Have you ever been right about anything? LOL

Interesting take considering they have the third best record in the NL and are tied for the 5th best in baseball. But I guess that's looking at the pot half full. Ante up! >>

Four or five people took that ridiculous thread seriously, and more people fought with you in it (no big shock there) than actually entered it.

Too much childish banter over there for me, but if that's your thing then feel free to stay over there.
Edited to add: You can tell them over on the sports talk forum there that Washington D.C. will soon be renamed Mao, D.C. I believe that was a direct quote from you the other night while you were talking bad about the United States of America.

<< <i>I'm gonna end it here for this thread. I've spoken my piece... >>
I knew it was too good to be true 2 hours and 44 minutes ago when you said that...
<< <i>There were at least 5 or 6 other anti American comments like that in the thread. You remember the thread dont you? Its the one where you went on a cowardly editing rampage before it went poof. >>
Okay, I'll give it one more try, to try to enlighten you....It was SARCASM. S-A-R-C-A-S-M...Got it now? Probably not.
I edited the posts because I didn't want to happen to me what happened to Mike (Stone) - The edits had nothing to do with you. Beginning to understand it now? Probably not.
