I wondered what happened to mosaic's grinning mug.
I think my LR cards case will be here tomorrow and I am debating picking up a sealed case from the local dealer for $960.

Also, a question, why would someone encase in a graded holder an opened rip card?? or any rip card for that matter?

Here are my hits from the six boxes I opened earlier, sorry for the delay. Hope you enjoy. The rip card came in my fifth box and the printing plate in the sixth. I will try to post more as time permits.

So what are you doing now, just sitting in a corner, staring at the boxes, nibbling your fingernails down to the quick? Go on then OPEN EM!! :-)

Indeed it is, mate, according to all the checklists I've seen.

Okay, since we are waiting for Nam to get started, let's chat a minute about ripping traditions. Walk us through the process of what you do when you open the cards. From opening the box to pulling out the cards and sorting them. Do you have any weird rituals in there?

Last year, I ripped my hobby boxes on my birthday in a hotel room we rented. After the gf went to bed, I relaxed in the hot tub for a while watching SportsCenter. Then, I got out, toweled off, put on some boxers, and went to have a seat over at the table where I'd put the boxes. At 2am on my Birthday, I began to rip and rip and rip (2 Hobby boxes + 2 blasters). I was done opening and sorting sometime around 6am... I was taking notes and assembling the base set in a binder to finish later.

It was better than what she gave me later that night... and THAT was pretty darn GoooOOOOoood *grin*

When I get my first 08 box, I'm waiting till she's asleep, putting on some Enigma, cracking a Labatt, and slowly undressing those sweet, sweet cards. Oh, Kerri Strug, I've been crushing on you since the 96 Olympics, and now... I can covet thee in cardboard form in my favorite set.

Sorry for not doing the live, I was rushed. My son had his first day of football practice and I was excited about opening them before I left. The break down was: Box 1 - 3 gu, box 2 - 4 gu, box 3 - 3 gu 1 auto, box 4 - 2 gu 2 auto, box 5 - 2 gu 1 auto 1 rip, box 6 - 2 gu 1 plate. Again, sorry for not doing the break live.

    A&G Break

Upon a quick glance it looks terribly stupid.

SP's were in the middle, maybe the 3rd or 4th card in the pack. I would keep all your cards in order until you figure it out.The guys
across the ocean listed a bunch of SP's..most of the historical guys, dont' know if thats true or not. You should have a good
    idea after tonight!

I'm hearing from my friend that I buy my Heritage cases from that there are no SPs this year, with the exception of F*u*kodome. I have no real confirmation of that, though - it's only something he's heard through the grapevine. Around six this morning is when we should have some confirmation from our newest all-night hero.

BTW, he's got a sealed case sitting there. He's quoting $80 a box if he decides to break it. I'm assuming that's a decent price? If I bust any, this'll be the first year I've done so, other than a few blasters from Target.

Back of the pack says that short printed base cards 1:2, so there are SPs.

absolutely, Kevin. This year it's going to be a tough road: Kershaw, Lowe, Saito, Kuroda, Billingsley, Penny, Martin, Loney, Hu, Kent, Furcal, Kemp, Ethier, Pierre, Jones. Plus I think there's a high number Martin, and a high number Rackie. I'll be doing the base set, plus all the minis from base through the /25 Bazooka. I won't do the 1/1 woods or printing plates, though.
